Nothing stopping you from taking that settler yourself, though, eh? I want to see blood!

DoFed until turn 76 i think? When DoF expires, should I declare myself?

Ah. That'd do it. Well, the only downside I see is that you might cause Rome's conquests to come out of occupation sooner.
ok I have a serious mechanic question for lurkers. Rome got the 1st GG but the next one is a medieval GG not another classical GG. How can this be? Everyone is still in classical tech+civ. If I had known this, I would have not swapped out of strategos.

ok when TBS got his GP, next GP was also a classical one. Now that I looked in the save, Rome got his GG and Japan bought their GP. Did getting the 3rd great person force the game to roll the next GP as medieval? ARHFKSJKJKSFSjkkljjj
If Grot bought his GP knowing this, that is a huge middle finger for sure. Youtube Channel Twitch aka Mistoltin
Is the classical GP not tied to staying in ancient? At least afaik I know this is why getting 2 classical GPs is extremly unlikely.
The great person era is always one era ahead of the game era. The game era is determined by the era that the majority of players are in OR 1 era behind the most advanced player (whichever is greater). When the first GProphet was claimed the majority of players were still in the ancient era, therefore the game era was ancient and the Great Person era was classical. When Rome claimed their GGeneral now the majority of players were in the classical era, therefore the game era is classical and great person era is medieval.
Really? Is there a place that documents that? That is very out of flavor. When i did my research, I did not find anything that stated that the GP era is one era ahead of the game era. Just a bunch of complaints/misinformation that the AI beelines cartography and that messes up GP eras. And I do remember that when I played Scotland in R&F, I got multiple classical GSs. Maybe this is fixed in R&F? I could go test, but right now my inclination is to uninstall civ6.

Multiple classical great people are possible as long as they are recruited while the majority of players are still in the ancient era (as you saw with the prophets in this game). I read the mechanics on civ fanatics some time past and my observation has been consistent with that description.
I don’t know how “majority” is determined when the number of players is even (is it half? Or half +1?)
