Dang! That's the sort of thing that can only happen with a group dedicated to seeing the story through and playing the characters rather than the stats.

I am very privileged to run for these guys.

Here in game, we had a hiatus for a little while, but it was timed nicely to coincide with our hospital stay. We're back now, yay. Um, and also, here turn 66 we are EXPOSED.

When are your next couple cities planned to be built?

Glad to hear you're healthy again?

Are you more concerned about military exposure, or about the chance that you invested 169 hammers into failgold? Why the lighthouse and not Mids? Midskoti would not approve wink.

I take it you're using Fast Workers as quasi-Ind trait?

Settler for U island is hopping into the just-whipped galley next turn. The gems/lakes/ivory settler is whipped in Kilmorph next turn. Assuming we land the GLH, we're going to go on a spree...

-We're all healthy, even were in healthy in the hospital. See tech thread. wink

-The exposure is indeed those 169 hammers; if we lose the GLH this turn (or a coinflip for it in the next) then we're in a bad way. Although not at bad as we'd be chasing the Pyramids...200 hammers vs. 500 hammers.

-Fast Workers are ridiculously good. Quasi-Exp, Quasi-Ind, Quasi-Mongol (mobility)...

Oh! Congratulations!

Miss or Master O'Dore?

Never would have occurred to me as a lurker to read a tech thread without prompting lol

Oh, right, BtS, and the shiny thing is worthwhile even at RtR bonus levels. Good luck.

I like that this start has made us think about early sources of commerce more than most of our MP games. Usually you just push food, food, food and know you'll eventually grow into cottages and become solvent. Sure you might hobble a little before currency but nobody really crashes their empire or has to worry anything about really over extending. But in this game we stayed at 3 and had to make a plan specifically to ignore AH food so thar we could get commerce to expand more. Part of that choice comes from there not being a lot of great food tiles to pick from either: if those gems had anything great nearby we may have just gone IW and let the wonders be.

Hopefully GLH will land and we'll be able to push out 3 to 5 more cities rather quickly. Having those islands nearby was such a lucky break.

Congrats!  Now you just need a million cities and to not have Old Harry come by to take your wonders from you.  I guess part 2 is maybe helped by not having him in the game mischief
