Trying to narrow down map consensus. We have the following preferences:
Scooter: preferably not water-heavy, lean towards roomy
TheArchduke: not mirrored, Continents, Small map size
Alhambram: Tiny, low sea level preferred
Cornflakes: non-mirrored, Fractal, same landmass, small (but not miles apart)
Actually feels like we’re pretty close to a consensus here. I’ll also add that I concur with the preference that we end up on the same landmass.

We did not have one landmass for some time. I think it would be good to do this again.
Continents (one landmass) or Pangea. We could try fractal.
Small
Low Sea level?
Analysis thread goes up tomorrow as soon as we have the basic config down.

I think the low sea level thing was mentioned by Alhambram along with Tiny map size as a way of making there be more land. So if we go with Small, that's probably not necessary. Also, New World age is a standard choice, right?

So to confirm: All start on same landmass [Pangaea or Fractal script as mapmaker's option]. Small size for more roomy. Leave sea level to mapmaker? Default level for Disasters.
***Map maker directive: locate city states without fresh water (coastal or dry) but add a mountain if necessary to provide at least one valid aqueduct site***
And the other settings so we have them in one place:
Age: Ancient
Difficulty: Prince
Start: Balanced
World Age: New
Everything Else mapmaker's choice (or Random)
No natural wonder starts
Number of City States - mapmaker's choice.
No Goody Huts
Bans: Venetian Arsenal, Scythia, Maori, Settler pantheon. No pillaging of CS except during true conquest attempt (pillaging players still fair game).
Any objections or things I missed in the above summary?

For full disclosure, the map is going to be homemade...kind of. I think I have found one that is close to fitting all your criteria that I will use as a template. I am making it "homemade" because it looks like the flooding is still a little broken if you modify rivers on the scripted maps. There is a chance of flooding on the untouched rivers but the modified or added rivers don't have names and I assume they can't flood. According to people at Civ Fanatics, flooding will work as intended on maps made from scratch and it would be nice for you all to get the full experience of GS.
That being said, I have all the land pretty much laid out and just need to lay out the features and adjust some of the terrain types. They have actually made world builder fairly easy to use. I should have screenshots up in the lurker's thread this weekend for comments. If possible and you guys work out the play order so I can establish starting locations, I could get you screenshots of your starts then too, if you want them to help when deciding who to play.

My reliable play time is 6 am to 8 am eastern (1000-1200 GMT). Early turns I am pretty flexible to squeeze in a quick turn on breaks throughout the day.
