RP Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Darius I of the Holy Roman Empire

Revised Capital.

We can use this missionary on either carse or our next city or Ylith. Whichever one needs culture in it.

Good plan!
We could also send him to Yabon to battle the new Korean culture and get some more tiles in working range.

Dantski asked us for a NAP untill t220.
What to do with that? I'm not that inclined to sign a NAP with him since he wasn't willing to do so in the past, but maybe a short one for a start (t200) can do no harm....
What do you think?

Sorry I didn't say why I didn't think you would get 30 hammers! It was a game mechnics thing but didn't want to influence you to change it - not spoiler but also you should be able to make a few mistakes and then we can point them out afterwards! wink

Nah, Yabon can build a culture building. It's really the new cities that need the missionary culture.

Square Leg - I had heard about the overflow limit before but I thought it had to do with overflowing, say, 50 hammers into something that costs 40 hammers and thus wasted 10 hammers. Thanks for letting me know. It's a minor mistake after all. smile

Nakor - I'd sign it for turn 210, the same turn as Korea. And please ask for a no-scouting clause or something.

Say, did India ever respond to our last email?

Hopefully this will be an interesting turn for the lurkers! smile

Some interesting events happened this turn.

1. Liberalism is 1 turn away from completion! smile I never thought that we could get the free tech at the start of the game since we were up against India and Byzantium, which had some expert players. But I guess a combination of factors ingame allowed us to reach the tech. It's not the whole game, of course, but a nice prize. We will, naturally, be taking Nationalism and starting the Taj Mahal in Rolan. Speaking of Rolan, here's the city, which will be size 16 next turn. We should get about 13+ hammers of overflow next turn, more with Organized Religion. As I'll mention below, I think the missionary should go to Ylith.

2. The Ottomans gifted us a chariot to act as a settler escort. Land's End, meanwhile, switched to a settler, scheduled for 8 turns. I really want Land's End to get the Moai Statues, so hopefully the Ottomans can get stone and we can borrow it.

3. Yabon should start on a library next turn if it wants to get more culture, since we don't have Drama yet for theatres. Yabon would be a nice city to get a library and a university in even if it's not a great science city (it has lots of production potential).

4. Whipped stardock for 2 population for a libary next turn. Stardock was generating well over 25 beakers per turn before the whip so the libary will certainly help in research.

5. Crydee started a university. We need Oxford University ASAP. The extra culture doesn't hurt either.

6. I have this worker in position to chop the forest in Rolan. I haven't done it yet, since I felt like Nakor should have a say. I recommend the worker chop the forest so the Taj Mahal is sped up. With Organized Religion, a forge, and marble, one chop does amount to quite a lot of hammers! In addition, there's a worker by La Mut that can move over to the other forest near Rolan (but not in its BFC) to chop as well.

7. Worker plan! We need something for them to do in our island! So here's what I propose:

  1. One worker goes over to the plains hill south of Queg and mines it.
  2. The other goes to the tile that is directly north-east of Ylith and chops THEN cottages. Judging from Ylith's growth rate, I don't think there's any benefit to getting a cottage done firset (on the tile directly east of Ylith) so it's probably best to chop to get a boost in the granary production, then cottage.

My hope is that Queg can be a great production city and Ylith can help us with research, since we are sorely lacking in grassland riverside cities. Ylith also could be a nice trade-route city.

8. Island defense! Our island cities (Ylith, Queg, etc.) need some more defenders so I moved an axe from our big stack so it can load the ship within the next few turns. We should probably gradually transfer troops over to our islands while still maintaining production of troops from La Mut.

9. Settling cities - the plan is to settle Darkmoor with the settler out of Queg, right? If so, then the confucian missionary out of Rolan should probably head over to Ylith so Ylith doesn't waste time building a monument like Rillanon in the center. Monuments are a waste this late in the game, so I suppose Rillanon should have been building something else (my apologies). Regardless, we can still whip the city in 2 turns.

10. I sent a reminder email to Whosit saying that this turn would probably be best if he wants to gift us his Centralia cities. The Inca could load some troops on the island.

11. What's the plan for the worker in Sethanon? I seriously think he should go to stardock and cottage there since Stardock will be in need of cottaged tiles soon and Sethanon isn't growing fast.

12. I think we have to go Aesthetics - Drama after Liberalism just to catch up on techs we missed.

Domestic Advisor. Keep an eye on this so we can tell when we need military garrisons (happiness) in a city. We really need to grow our cities, so I hope that Stardock can avoid too much whipping in the future since it's got great growth potential.

thanks for the update, DMOC!
I agree on sending the missionary to Ylith.

There's an island west of Ylith that I'd like to settle if possible.
Also, we can put a filler city on Centralia between Carse and Dathomir.
And there's Hawk's Hollow still to settle. It does have riverside grassland...

I think we should go HBR - Guilds before Aest - Lit to get Knights available, but it could also be the other way around.

I'll get the NAP with Dantski for now, but think we should have a longer NAP with Korea then with Dantski in the end.

India didn't reply and I don't feel like WE are the one who should contact them. We've been trying this all along and they don't seem interested. Let them start talks for once if they want to.

HBR, Guilds, Aesthetics, and Drama are all big priorities for us afterwards.

Any idea why Whosit hasn't gifted us his Centralia cities yet? He does know that Slaze could easily load troops to Centralia and raze the cities?

Yeah, let's get a longer NAP with Korea if possible.

After checking the game, it seems like the worker from Sethanon went over to Rolan. I think he would have better suited to go to Stardock since it wastes worker turns to have more workers moving on forests. But nonetheless hopefully he gets the cottage done faster after chopping.

Sorry, I thought your plan was to chop both forests for TM and then move both to stardock.

I'll send Whosit a message.

Don't forget to take screenshots of the highlight of our Civ.. lol

No I meant to say that one worker goes to Stardock (it needs improved tiles NOW since it grows fast due to 2 food tiles). Eh, not a big deal. Let's move that worker over on the forest as well, so the chop is done in 2 turns, the the cottage is done in 2 turns, then possibly road. Roading is great when you've got Engineering.

I've already sent Whosit a message via email so we'll see what he does.
