The map is actually three big landmasses that meet together in a triangle. The islands are on the outside of the landmasses. The area east of Seward's Folly is the center of the map where the three landmasses meet. wetbandit and Kuro are on a separate landmass from Seven. Quite possibly Seven wasn't our neighbor at all, and it was retep and he's now finally settling all of retep's land.
So yeah, we should apologize to Seven for settling Watergate so aggressively because we thought those were his island cities to the east. 
The funny thing is, had we had normal growth we probably would have settled across the channel without realizing that it'd be territory that would normally have belonged to retep.
We've also explored enough vertically to see the world wrap, even though the game won't let us scroll all the way around. There are two lines of islands before the map wraps around. So we could run into Gavagai in the south since he has at least one island city. I'd say the map has enough room for about 20-21 cities per person. So Seven can probably settle 10-15 more cities while Mike can settle maybe 10 more cities. The people on the outside might get more settling room, depending on whether there are east-west islands or not...

Seven is building new cities at an exponential pace. Up to 21 now.

There's a decent bit of action going on in game, so I'll get a report up later today. We need to play after Gavagai who needs to play after Bantams so I'm not going to log in for the inevitable "why didn't you play on one of your 1000 logins" question, but when those two things have happened, I'll jump in and get a report up.
