I just sent this to Ichabod:

Quote:I still don't understand how Bantams could have moved units during the second half of last turn without being logged in. You do realize that if Bantams had units on GOTO they would move at the start of the current turn, and may be mistaken to have moved at the end of the last turn, right? That still doesn't violate turn order because Bantams has first half. I do know for a fact that Bantams has used GOTO this game because we've seen his unit move at the start of a turn.

I'm not asking for spoilers, but I really don't see how there can be a double move. If any lurker can explain to me generically that would be great.

Just answered it to you.

Yeah, my mistake. I misread the Civstats event log.

Alright, so I'm long overdue for a report. So let's see how much I can catch the dedlurker(s) up at least. BTW, any dedlurkers who want to bail because of my shitty, shitty reporting I don't take any offense at that, though I would of course prefer to have you on board.

So 8 turns have passed since that last report. What's happened? Here's the event log...

As you can see, some good news and some bad news in there. We got Currency tech which is always a huge economy saver. On this map, though, where you can fill your cities with nothing but 3c trade routes, its absolutely huge. So our economy has gone from awful to middling. We then got a Great Scientist at ~25% odds when we would have preferred either a Great Engineer or a Great Prophet. We discovered Iron Working, finally, which revealed Iron at Iran Contra. Finally, we got a renewed ten turn treaty with the Aztecs. In fact, we got paid for it, which is interesting, since we would have taken one for free. Honestly, we shouldn't have, with Gavagai invading Bantams, but our personal war weariness is pretty high at the moment. Anyway, here's that:

Sodium and Magnesium are former Persian cities. We have some visibility on that area now:

Tarsus was relatively well defended at the time we had vision on it. Some of the insulting things posted about Bantams in the tech thread may seem out of line, but when we met him, he had 6 cities. I can't even conceive of how that happened. As best as we can tell, he did not have any workers sniped from him stunting his development either. And oh look, another capital better than ours. And another player who could have had a 3-food capital if he had made a particular movement. rolleye

We also made contact with Wetbandit (playing ok) and Kuro (playing awful). Don't have a lot of vision here because we're really just looking to ensure contacts for the Known Tech bonus and overseas Trade Routes for when we eventually close borders with France, because fuck France.

Enough about everyone else, here's what's going on in the Scandalous homeland:

As you can see, we finally need a 2nd screenshot to cover all of our cities. We've settled Chappaquiddick and XYZ Affair since the last post, Chappaquiddick as an outlet to the islands, though it captures Spices which will be handy after we finally research Calendar tech whereas XYZ is mostly filler to use some of the unused grassland tiles. We'll be planting a second city on that island for Silver shortly. We would have planted differently, NE of the Silver and then a 3rd city in the SW corner of the island, which more optimally utilizes all the resources on the island, but after annoying Seven with Watergate, we decided it best not to antagonize him, particularly as he's been a good friend. In game terms, Mali wouldn't be so unhappy with Zululand winning the game if they couldn't win (and we can't.) As opposed to France or Azteca, who can eat a big fat dick. nod

We're currently 1t away from Code of Laws tech which we will follow up with Polytheism tech > Monotheism tech. That should take a total of 3t. At which point we'll fire a Golden Age and revolt to Representation/Caste System/Organized Religion. We'll then go for Civil Service tech during the GA which will allow us to revolt to Bureaucracy on the back end. After that we'll tech probably tech Calendar > Machinery > Engineering > Monarchy > Feudalism > Guilds. At which point, y'know, Kill 'Em All, or something like that. Obviously everything beyond Civil Service is still in the debate stage.

Here's the current demo situation:

We're 4, 5, or 6 in pretty much every key indicator, which I think is a fairly accurate representation. I think the game goes something like this:

1. Seven
2. France
3. Gavagai
4. Goreripper
5. Us

Fairly substantial gap between us and Goreripper, probably. Anyway, we could easily have attacked France a few turns back, and probably should have. But as I said at the time, our personal war weariness was just a little too high. At this point, probably just going to builder for a bit and then shove some Knights up somebody's ass later, but like I said, we're not really planning out that far.

Any questions - anything I didn't cover that anyone is curious about or comments on some of our plans? Happy to answer.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Yeah, I haven't been a good dedlurker either, so why do deep reports when you're not getting input in return? Sorry dude.

Can you do a rundown of the known capitals? How about a bare-map F5 shot?
