I'm easily influenced. There is NOTHING directly east of me. Hopefully there is some kind of food SE. Makes me want that wet corn cow city as 4th latest.
I'm not going to lie one of my major weaknesses it the demo screen. How does someone have 6K in pop already?

I mean ya I could tell that by food. I just didn't know it went from 1K to 6K lol. Again game knowledge I haven't needed prior to pitbosses so I usually shrug and do the best I can.

Good call on scouting. Ended up going down along coast and......
So Cairo is closer on the diagonal. I think overall plan is aggressively settle up on the celts and then go punch Cairo.

Gotta say I don't like our neighbour luck, but we have to play the deck we were dealt.
Cairo has historically been a sturdy defender, although I'm not sure how he would do against a pre- catapult attack. He's not typically one to expand fast, so that's our hope I guess. He's also very cautious with offenses, so likely to just sit by if we attack the Celts or a possible southern neighbour.
Both neighbours will likely be tough nuts to crack, but we'll have to try or luck on one of them. But best to keep both options open.
I agree though with trying to grab Corncow fast

I mean combination wise Cairo isn't the worst. Its not El Grillo of Inca, but what can you do.
Some early micro. I'm favoring 2 worker first especially if I want to settle S of corn. Settler first creates a lot of awkwardness, where 2nd worker seems to flow better. Go go imperialistic chops! I'll probably wait for scouting and copper locations for final decision. Would you mind logging in and trying to figure out power of Vanrober / what it is. Mainly trying to figure out if scout needs to hang out between me and him. Neither plan has a warrior out pre 2nd city. Mind I'm assuming he has other neighbors to worry about than to send probably his only warrior at me.
2nd worker first size 2
T29 settler
advantages can chop forest S of corn; also starts growing capital faster
Settle T30
forests chopped 3
farm completed T33
Other advantage gives natural point to switch to slavery. Also starts growing capital sooner for whipping next settler
Settler first
T27 settler
Settle T29 IF settle S of corn; wasted worker turn; settle T28 if settle N of corn
2nd worker T32, but has nothing to do until T33 when AH finishes
forests chopped 2
Farm can be completed T33 IF settle N of corn (also no wasted worker turn). If settle anywhere else T34
Not sure when switching to slavery. Probably after AH finishes.

... but the alternative is cleaning the kitchen, so:
I (re-?)learned that you can check how much score a pop or tech is worth here:
(while mousing over your own name on the scoreboard. Yes I know everbody knew this already)
2 worker plan seems way better from reading it. Final decision is still due only after seein copper and scouting the rest of the first ring. I assume that next turn we take a look into Cairo's cap?

Thanks for procrastinating for me. I was a little afraid of that. I couldn't figure out what the 3k was. The awkward thing is I may not be able to scout south of my capital if I have to go back. Cairo has a wet rice instead of dry
Is your pink dot spot a 1st city 2nd? Mine is a 2nd. I did think about yours for a 1st. Can't share food, which is main thing.

It was meant for the first city, with the idea that claiming the wet corn first ring er could then proceed to settle for both plains cows first ring. Dry corn gets claimed t50 by the cap.
But it's very likely worse than S of drycorn.
And yeah, wet rice AND hillpig? While we just have 1 5/0 tile? SD what's up with that ?

We will see where copper is. I don't hate the plan, but definitely a little risky with no military. Hoping turn rolls soon so I can post copper locatinig during lunch. But first lets complain about the map some more. Because SD likes to do it a lot so he should also take it right? Plus people like to complain and I'm very much not an exception!
Look at my food. As noted it is of lesser quality, but positioning is also bad. Everything but the fish is first ring. This drastically reduces number of spots to settle that can share a food. The fish can only be shared mainland from 1 tile. Now my worker could improve my rice 1T faster since it was next to the cap; however, that actually doesn't matter because it would have grown to size 2 the same turn I finished a 2nd ring farm. The cow just isn't sharable at all.
Now to be fair, from what little I see, to establish trade Cairo would also have to settle on a forest if he wants that grassland cow and to share, but he still does have more options. I have exactly 2!!! spots that both grab first ring corn and share the rice......
I didn't see enough of Vanrober's capital food situation, but I've already complained about the stone.
Anyways, hoping to have a copper picture soon that I can complain about more!
