[PB61 spoilers] Bing Xi Lao stumbles into the ring

Lol I've been doing long tryhard turns calculating stack defenses with vodka while Rekenner has been playing 3 minute turns just plonking skirms on hills. And he's just going to stay there too.... lurking.....

This turn, I moved both my workers onto the elephant tile as planned, before pausing to think about the fact that the last chariot had pillaged the road connecting Assabiyah and Mouse Utopia, and should be rebuilt.
That annoyed me so much that I decided to just try to kill the skirmishers on the hill. Real great strategist here  twirl

Anyway, I got lucky with the RNG, I even won a 6% battle attacking with an unpromoted spear. So, I lost a combat1+cover axeman (but the Great General one won his battle), and a spearman; but killed the chariot and four skirmishers.

That brings the total casualties in this war to: I've lost two axemen and a spearman, while he's lost 12 chariots, 6 skirmishers, and 2 warriors.  I sent another Peace Treaty offer to add insult to injury (and because I don't have any intention of try to brute force my way into cities which know I'm coming and will have plenty of time to whip skirmishers).

Started building a 3rd worker in capital because axeman production got interfered with, and because I#m now thinking how to restore economy. I want to make a settler soon.
I could research Farming in 2 turns, but my workers aren't in position anyway. Might as well save up if I suddenly need to upgrade a warrior because Bellarch invades or something.

He accepted peace after that, so now the big question is how to catch up economically and whether I need to be worried about Bellarch and JackRB. I'll post another update soon!

TURN 79 - seven net income.... well, you should see the other guy!

4 income expended on unit maintenance. Maybe i should've disbanded a warrior but I'm using them to scout so there's that.
5 workers on the field. Rekenner is going to settle his 4th city - finally getting copper.
Researching masonry so I can build some big, beautiful walls - while i do have the most soldiers, they're just spearmen mostly, would die to axemen easily enough.
Obviously the big problem is the garbo income, but I expect that to just fix itself once my cities grow and I build some (financial) cottages.
My next settler I could send west to the hill north of the incense, but maybe it should claim the dye and wheat instead? I don't need dye, but it's be nice to grab some land assuming people wouldn't invade me over it.... I think I'd rather go for the safer options though.
I think I'll just try to hang on in this game, and hopefully someone attacks one of my neighbours.
Also maybe I can cram in a marginal city to the north, on a hill just south of the jungle. Mateship has 2 pop fyi.

So, what sort of diplo offers would I send it I was trying to get either of JackRB and bellarch to attack each other with my participation?

In general, fish for fish means "lets be friends", copper for copper means "lets fight together". With True AI Diplo on, you can also send "War with X" requests, often with a gold amound (after currency) indicating when you want to strike.

TURN 90

Just an update on postwar development. Foolishly built a road to my new city site on Rekenner's border this turn, so he'll see it 1 turn before the settler and garrison use it, which was unnecessary. Could have put 2 workerturns into a cottage there first instead instead. As you can see, city numbers are looking pretty bad for Rekenner and I. Info screens in spoiler.

TURN 93

Net income fell back down to 10 this turn. But look on the bright side - plenty of pop growth, cottages growing, and we're up to 7 cities. It won't be that bad for long.
I don't think Rekenner is pleased with my new city placement, but I don't think he can kill it either. I am rushing walls there just to dissuade him from making any plans.
I don't like that JackRB can see my garrisons of my two northwestern cities using a scout, it's unsettling, but my espionage still shows he only has equal military forces.
I converted to Buddhism finally, last turn, since I had a settler in motion, and that would be the last time I had a settler in motion towards a high priority town site.
We're also now up to number 5 for manufactured goods in the info screen! So by that metric, at least we're not total rock bottom in a sad pairing with Rekenner.
Incidentally, the info screen also has suggested to me (in the form of low pop stat) that Rekenner slave-rushed the settler for his 4th city, and is generally on a low ebb in terms of food/prod.
I don't have huge defensive or offensive interest in Rekenner - it's just that he kept 5 skirms parked on the the border very rudely and now they're (hopefully pointlessly) moving towards Power Process.
