Horrible ? I messed something up in my early game (the lost city shouldn't be only mistake)
I understated the tech pace, I thought I was not that bad, but I think, nearly everyone has CS in a few turns ? And I can't hold with Praets against macemen.
And I have no Constrcution yet (last turn i missed with 2 beakers, because something messed up my MM).
I think about researching archery, so that I can defend with x-bows.
Picture when I find the time to make my turn here.

Do you think ? Even better, what can I use to defend against Phracts ? Praets can win If I stack my boni, but If I attack ?
I do try to defend Mediolanum, because I can't evac my praets there. And with 110% I should have a good chance to kill 2 cataphracts.

   

I will offer Bing this deal, but I'm not sure if he accept.
I hope I can research Engeniering with that, so I can field pikes (nearly useless) and built castles (a bit better). + 1 movement is good too.

   

And I I hadn't this dammed mistake in my MM (I saw 1 turn before I ended the turn !) I would have whipped most cities this turn for catas.
So I need another turn.

And like I said, I understated the techpace. And I understated the turnpace too. And AGG Praets are not bad, I only have to fear axemen and even than I should have a good chance to win with a first strike in plains (even here possible). And If I recall my civforum games, we have writing after 2 months, not knights.

And another war declaration without a message in the forum. I had no idea that I have to play early.

My catas are too late. Only one enemy or/and one/two turn later I would be in a much better position.

Yeah.. getting smacked from multiple angles suck, but better early game city placement (that pig STILL doesnt have a city working it?!) and either going full-bore on war or not instead of half-assing it would have helped. Also, praets + cats would have gotten you a ton of land. Shock praets are ROUGH to get rid of on any non-flatland terrain, probably could have taken some Mali cities.

Since you have catapults.. any units that CAN consolidate, SHOULD consolidate. Dont let your units die piecemeal if you can save them. Then its all about picking 1 spot to sit that stack and wait for whomever decides to get smashed by it. Just make sure you dont get shredded by flanking..

I did lost a stack of 4 units I should have lost last turn.
I wanted to log in again to save them, but I was to late ( ~5 min).

And about the units against Aetryn. Maybe, but I think there is a location I can trade okay.
And I can’t really retreat my units there, because I have no culture to slow down Aetryns attack.
This is better in the west.

And this is not my first time I have to retreat before knights. I do try to hold on as long I can but than to retreat.

Bing is funny.
I think he declined my first offer because he thought we aeen't allowed to trade cities outsideof peacedeals (wrong, spreadsheets says 1 der deal, not 1 per peacedeal)  and declared war last turn - no problem, I have 0 units in the east and offered peace for 2 cities.

I espected the war a bit. I would accept this deal, Bing granted me my gold to finish the Engineering research. But We aren't allowed to trade 2 cities, only one. I plan to offer Bing only Circei.




How to I proceed here.
I don't think a first strike would be good in the moment. And I can't reallay evacuate, Aetryn can reach my units thanks to Engineering on his side.
I plan to defend Setia 1 (or 2) turns. I hope/think, Aetryn don't want to trade in this case. 1 Cover Präts against his Xbow, the others with SHock.
ANd then I can evac next turn, when I have engineering.
Wealth in Setia so that i could built a castle in 1 tun next turn, i case I want to hold against the other army.

I think, Greenline wants to bypass Neapolis, his Army is on the field Neapolis SWW. He can reach Cumae before my western army - not that I have the size to attack 12 kataphracts.
But If Greenline moves in the south, maybe I try to burn Prudence.
