Well - I received the save after alot of hours but I'll be able to play it just this evening ( ~3-4 hrs from now ). rolleye

I'm really curious to check what happened because it's almost sure that I need to prepare ( again ) some defensive stacks in order to defend against another war-declaration from Nicolae. duh

Didn't receive the save this morning but - as an observation : Nicolae use his Golden Age to grab Civil Service ( and probably to switch to Bureaucracy ) - on other hand I'm 3-turns away from Civil Service too. rolleye

On Eastern front : I started sort of siege against Ivory Tower city. I'm curious if he retreated his units to reinforce it or not ... maybe I'll attempt an assault ... tongue

Hmmm ... received the save and ... surprise, surprise ! Nicolae didn't declare war upon me !! bow

So ... I decided to do probably the craziest possible thing and I declare war upon him - actually with the goal to obtain a 10-turn of guaranted peace ! :P
I also wanted to use the only existing forest near our northern border - damn, my Jags are a terrible deforestation agent !! rolleye

Could be a trap and 10 units will attack me from the fog ... but this is. Let's hope for the best ...

As an explanation for the picture : he has 13 units inside the city against my 11 outside. Probably he could do a "complete assault" to wipe my stack ( I don't have time to do simulations and so on this morning ) ... but let's see his next move. smile

Well ... I managed to capture the border city from GingerEagle - because ... he seems to drastically underestimate the risk presented by my siege units !! jive

Decided that the city is impossible to be kept so I razed it ... anyway - a nice succes while a bulk of GingerEagle units stays 3 tiles away !! lol

From extasy to agony ... Nicolae's first maceman(s ? ) appeared ... which clearly give him an huge advantage - especially as long as I will just complete Metal Casting this turn. frown

A small battle took place in South - lost 4 or 5 units but he lost few siege units in the process so it's sort of a draw. Anyway - I sued for peace ... but I'm quite sure that he will not accept it. cry

On Eastern front I retreated my units from GingerEagle teritory - from my point of view for the moment I obtained everything I could hope ... I'll propose him a peace-treaty next turn ( again ). Hope that he will realize that his 2 axeman + 2 chariots small stack is not really a fighting for a "flank-maneuver". wink

Damn ... I took too many gambles this games and probably now it payback time. banghead

Hope that I didn't perform any idiotic moves this morning - because I played the save in extrem hurry ... as I came to work this Saturday. frown

Decided to retreat the "pressure-stack" from the forest near Nicolae's city - and I order to do so probably I'll lose a Horse Archer ( which pillaged access road in order to prevent a counter-strike from his defending forces ). rolleye
Machinery will be researched in 5 turns - let's hope that this will not prove too late ... alright

Almost nothing to report on Eastern front - except that I spotted another barbarian city in NE ... another potential source of gold ... tongue

This is the PEACE DANCE - for the moment I have at least 10 turns of calm on both my borders ... GingerEagle accepted my peace-proposal and Nicolae also propose a treaty to me. smile

Switched from Machinery to Calendar ( 2 turns at -9 gpt ) and all my cities from unit-production to Forges and so on ... hope that this period will help me more than my ennemies. wink

Made a detour to Aestetics in order to attempt a race to Parthenon - let's see what will happen ... rolleye

I'm quite sure that if me and Sareln will not manage to fight together the game will be won by Nicolae frown - but anyway, I'll play my ( small ) chance. wink

As a short update ( without pictures ) and before playing T 126 ( will do this in the evening when I'll be back at the hotel ) :

- lost Partheon to Nicolae ... had 3 turns to complete it. Another hit to my hope to restore somehow the gap between us using GPs.
- I've conquest one more barbarian city in the NE and rename it Branduseni - it has a good potential but also will need 2-3 workers for a faster improvement-rate ... rolleye
- settled an almost crazy advanced city near GingerEagle's border ... hope to be able to defend it for 5-10 turns until walls are built. wink
