Yup, I guess. I don't think anyone would mind a bit of teasing or something like that, but nothing more than that. And that's a relevant question, because....

That's very, very, very bad news. They found your scout in darrell's turn.

After a bit of thought, I guess the best thing we can do is move your scout to the hill 1E, 1NE. This way, darrell will be able to see your scout and he'll probably think you are scouting, so he'll go to the other direction, guessing that there's where your capital is.

If the plan backfires, at least we'll see where the archer is heading and the scout can help defend... Not that it means much...

I kept building the worker, but if Darrell heads east with the scout, I'll change into a warrior next turn.

Well, I do have some good news. The proposed second city site got even better, since it has gold in its BFC. This site is good enough for a Kurio city, so we'll have to think about that. It would be a long way for a settler made by you and it'll be far away from your capital. Also, it is in the front lines, so harder to defend. But I could settle the city and gift it to you. It's something to think about.

Ah, and I'm popping a hut next turn! C'mon Horseback Riding!!

Damn you Goblin Horde!!!

Yeah I agree with your proposed positioning. The hill means we can keep an eye on it as well. If the Goblin is smart he will realise that as the Ratman is facing West he must have come from the East. As a 1-move unit we still have 7 turns untill it is at your border, and that's if it goes in a straight line. So we should be able to get out warriors before it arrives. It has no promotions so we don't have to worry about a city falling. But choking is possible. No a choking is damn certain.

I feel horrible for saying this but if it does go for us it's best if it chokes you. My city site has the Calender Resource for good economy. If it stays on you then I can go commerce heave with my capital and try and limp to Horse Riders then throw a load of contaurs at you. Luckily my Rider Unit doesn't need a building first. Problem is I bet the little bigger will pillage our starting improvements including your lovely elvish cottage.

I'd prefer the Kuriotate Cities to be on the backlines. If they are going to be our Commerce heavy cities i'd like them safe. But you are right that is a very tempting spot... we will have to see. I'll explore the NE to see whats there. What should I build once I get my worker? Should I get some Warriors to help fortify the city or reinforce you? (But the reinforcements would let the Archer know where I am.) I'm actually thinking I should pop out a quick second scout and try and steal as many huts in the NE as I can and hope we get lucky with a Horseback Riding pop.

Yup, there's 2 goblin archers sniffing around our lands. That's... bad, to say the least. I thought about trying some kind of active defense, positioning warriors 1SW and 1NW of my capital (so that the archers would have to attack the warriors to get to the city/the good tiles in the BFC), but it would be to risky with our limited forces. So, fortifying in the capital is my plan right now.

Production was changed to a warrior, of course...

Fortunately, Darrell is also being crippled by this choke attempt. He's currently at 8 GNP and that includes culture. So we can hope that this won't set us back too much in comparison to them.

The hut popped for 30 gold... GOD DAMMIT, we need horseback riding! Not this time, unfortunately...

I think you have to keep following the archers with your scout, so that we can see where they are going. Hopefully, they go get my capital, not yours. I think you can keep on with the worker build right now. If they start going too agressive towards your direction, then you'll have to change it.

Ravus, I just played my turn.

The archers are very near your scout. I think you should explore the dungeon near your scout. If it's a good result, nice. If it's bad, like a powerful enemy, let's hope he kills, delays the archers. They are going to pop it anyway, so at least we can deny them the benefits.

The problem is that he's going to kill your scout and it'll probably give his archer a promotion... And a promotion in one of the archer would be pretty bad...

What do you think? Hope you are not too busy!

Sorry, I have been busy the last few days and will be untill after sunday. But It is a tricky choice.

Unless they left me a place to runaway I may not have a choice. The bad... bad bad bad result would be if they killed the scout AND then both survived a big bad barbarian resulting in multiple promotions... I think risking it is the right choice though.

I mean... A enemy barbarian wouldn't ignore the archers to turn on us... right?

I surely hope so...

The problem is that if there's indeed a big bad barbarian in there, they'll let him loose anyway, because they have no reason not to pop the damn thing.

That being said, I'm very scared about the prospect of promotions on the damn archers...

So, Ravus decided not to give the xp to the goblin archer and ran away with his scout. Last turn darrell popped the dungeon and got a healing salve. Not good... Now he can attack one of our cities and instantly heal after the battle. Of course, I don't think he'll be attacking, because the odds will be a lot in our favor.

Regarding defence, the healing salve is useless, because we really need to kill it in just one turn, so he won't be able to use it.

This turn I can't see where the archers are, because we lost the scout visibility:

Well, that means we'll have a few more turns of safety. I finished my warrior in the EoT and started on another one. After that, I'll finish the worker, just to avoid hammer decay (if they choke me I don't expect to be able to improve much of my capital).

This is the capital, with the promoted cottage! jive

...that'll probably be pillaged soon... but let's not talk about this for now shhh

My research was set on Horseback Riding, like we talked about. It's the only way to kill these damn archers, so it's a must, unfortunately. Hopefully, we can get a few more hut techs, like all our rivals are doing...

Speaking of scouts, the Hippus one is scouting the southeast. No huts detected yet... Ah, that city spot is soooo good... Can't wait to see it settled...

Hope everything is alright with you, Ravus!
