Era doesn't matter for religious pressure as far as I know. Did someone enhance a religion with one of the passive pressure beliefs?

Nope. I think it was just a coincidence.

Well, the Chu-Ko-Nu's are already here.

Here are Meiz' lands. I wanted OB with him, but he doesn't even accept an embassy trade. Tempted to just steal a worker with the scout and delete both, it can't do much without OB :P

Thinking of asking if we should call the game. Jkaen and Azza haven't updated their threads since November last year, and neither seems to care about the game anymore. Of course I can't tell if they do have some plans in motion, but Rome really should have used his Legions and Ballistas to take on Meiz, and Azza should be sending those Chu-Ko-Nu's towards Meiz, instead of being locked in an eternal war with me, just because he was too stubborn to move a single unit out of the way, and too stubborn to accept peace without ridiculous concessions from me. If half the players don't care, and the winner is decided, as much as I've enjoyed playing this game, maybe it'd be best to call it and start a new one.

You cannot delete workers the turn you capture them because you cannot select them--this is because they have no moves. The AI can though. The AI can also attack if a unit has no way to retreat if the attack would always kill.

It's Turn 100! dance

I will be building military in Vienna and Linz next turn. Bregenz just finished it's walls. Castle next turn?
I've retreated my units, two got killed off while trying to get the ivory connected. Cho-Ko-Nu's are too strong when they can pop out from the fog and attack me twice.
Azza is exclusively demanding a city now that I could actually afford to give him a unique luxury. Go figure.

Innsbruck was founded. Sorry no pic, it didn't get saved.

First proper trade route on Turn 101. That is so sad. Just imagine running 4 trade routes like that versus running 0. It's a huge difference. Trade matters in BNW.

Azza is charging in. I'm very much regretting the riskier city placement right now. Would be easy to hold if I settled one hex back. And he can grab the luxury with the Great General, which makes the whole reason for settling there invalid.
Probably the biggest mistake by me this game. Well, going wide was another, but I mainly just wanted to try a strategy that I usually don't run, to keep things interesting.

Lost three units this turn. I tried to kill a Cho-Ko-Nu last turn by attacking out, but it lived with 2/100 HP or something ridiculous like that. He mopped up my units real quick.
Thought between turns that I should give him Bregenz. It's a size 1 city without much significance to me. I don't need the one luxury anymore, and as I said before, since he has a GG he can just take it any time he wants.
Problem is, that Azza has nothing to gain by attacking Bregenz either. There are two possibilities:
1) He wants to gain something out of this war. Which means that he will continue pushing against me, to capture cities that DO matter.
2) He is irrationally mad at me, which means the war will continue on until he can no longer do anything to me.
In both cases, giving him the city gains me nothing, and would at best delay the war by 10 turns even if he accepted temporary peace.

Meiz must be having a laugh. Jkaen made a declaration of friendship with him, and Azza is directing his Cho-Ko-Nu's against me instead of him.
He's somehow managed to be a master manipulator in a game with no diplomacy lol

This is what I wanted to do, but I ended up switching to trying to embargo China (Azza). Never gonna get an embargo on Meiz, not when he's got these guys in his pocket. Next best thing after that is trying to hurt the guy who wants me dead. If things had went better, right now I'd be going for the top of the tech tree, grabbing the naval techs and starting to prepare for an attack on Meiz by sea to slow him down. But I will need to get land techs to fight Azza, and couldn't afford to attack Meiz anyway with Azza going for me. I'm sorry if I keep repeating stuff. Perhaps I'm wrong and Meiz isn't as powerful as I've thought, and Azza or Jkaen do end up winning the game, in which case I'll admit I was a noob.

Welp, Bregenz is gone and I'm at 20k soldiers vs Azza's 50k. Will probably lose more than that. Bregenz was on a hill with walls, but could only last 2 turns under bombardment.
Jkaen signed a research agreement with Meiz. I guess the method by how I lose doesn't matter much, but would have still been nice to at least try to stop Meiz.

RIP Bregenz. frown Azza razed it. That's good, actually. If I get peace, I'll re-plant it in a more defensible position.

Here is the new front. Again pretty weak against Cho-Ko-Nu's. Some ships would make it strong, but we're not in that era yet.

My spy stole a tech from Azza. I took Machinery, so I can now build Crossbowmen. I have the tech to defend, but he might overwhelm me. My lands lack production.
This is the first time I'm in a war against Cho-Ko-Nu's, and they're definitely a scary thing.

What's Linz building and why isn't a unit?

That +30% GG boost in that screenshot also sticks out - looks like that might be wrecking you pretty hard.
