Apologies in advance for anyone (?) lurking this, this game is interesting to play in, but my reports aren't going to be particularly humorous.
Okay, been a while since we had an update. Let's see the situation:
9 cities is pretty meh. Kind of cute how we've been following the big river though.
The south:
Traits:
We're IND and we still need more workers I'm not sure if I'm going to have time to build m(any) though, most of our cities hardly have any infrastructure.
Our teching has been hilariously awful:
We researched Medicine (I guess for Arthendain?), but we haven't even built him yet.
And we have Currency, but have like a billion other things to build before we can really think about money exchanges or whatever. We are building the merc building which I'll try to complete, even though we don't make much GPT and really ought to focus on drafting Firebows instead.
We also lack KotE despite being Amurities
Looking at units, we have a slave in the south:
I guess we killed a goblinoid and then lost the unit? Sadly I had to delete him to save maintenance.
Hurl is one of our few decent production cities:
So of course it lacks almost any useful military infrastructure!
I'm going to have this new city build a Training Yard & pray that the next player understands to build swords to take the nearby barb city.
Okay, so time for a plan- I'm going to tech Honor and Arete, and then revolt into Consumption, Overcouncil and Arete while hoping that the others understand the cue to draft FB, hire mercs and build stuff that makes us gold. I'll whip in Archery Ranges before revolting. And then maybe we can kill Water Perpentarch to our south! Or maybe we'll just continue to lose workers to lizardmen and tech expensive economic techs we'll never use :P
Not a lot happened, really. I more-or-less followed the plan I laid forth in my last post, trying to set us up for Firebow drafting & Merc hiring. I popped a Golden Age using a Great Merchant to speed things along and dodge a turn of revolt toward the end of my set when I changed civics. We could have used him for the Runes Shrine, but the golden age made a much larger difference in terms of military preparedness.
Some highlights:
I lost one of our few remaining commando units to Lair Madness. Opps.
Landed the Guild without issue.
Built Arthendain, had him kick Bear ass in the north, only to realize at the end of my set that I should have been leaving them alive to get exp on firebows. Opps.
The new civics. Hey, did you know that Firebow only start with Fire 1, so they kind of suck as draft units if you don't have any exp-granting civics or Command Posts? I, uh, forgot Ah well, hopefully TBS drafts a few, gets their Fire II via killing bears, and then mostly saves gold until he can switch to Conquest + Apprenticeship, or something.
Showing off the improved economy post-revolt.
I wonder what the team will do next. Draft 'Bows and hire Mercs & kick Team Ocean Perp's assess in the south? Lose workers and tech insane expensive economic techs we'll never use? Probably the latter :P
He also met a strange show, also met !
Mr. against the top and all inclined , so we will not put up a fight in class! Instead , we can negotiate , feed and accommodate each other against the evils of Lanun slag. I offer this gold for the map , any hope that ring is non- fishing, but in the hands of you surely know , this Lanun not travel as fast . My oldest teach upload your horses, everyone can benefit building. Older more than this to the private law of the laws , because before this, Luchuirp is foolish and ignorant. In view of all that trade, and deliberately accept your friendship we have accumulated. It may hurt us in the eyes of Lanun , but if we expect to win here, and we die hard pace , under the gaze is any strength to fight the raging sea with them. A poverty that offends your site, and we do demand - the city is under a large tree, Luchuirp claimed for all to see . But we want no crime in him , and hopefully not take what is not given . For this site, but a little here , should not hurt you , will not dare!
If you want something from us, and we will provide the selfish , for their strong friendship for us .

Oh, my God ! Oh, my God ! What a fool I forget the proper administration. This world of ours has 3 continents matter. Why live and purge'd Lanun inevitably drawn to the conflict , it is certainly the biggest of all , and covers the entire western Luchuirpian home. To its east and south lies the plump , firm continent forest and forest, which I suspect is really dead forest dwellers live in other cases, however, is now populated by a swarm of men and lizards protective skeletons . And across the sea lies north Icey Luchuirp housing, land of rolling plains and harsh tundra.
We strive secrets of smelting iron , and would be willing to negotiate this knowledge , which is sure to provide the most powerful arc fires on Lanun for any spells you have. What are you talking about?

We met the Luchuirp this turn, though I don't know where. Got a selection of offers from them;
Open borders
Our map for 50g
Construction for HBR
Fishing +40g for CoL
All declined. I re-offered OB + map trade back. I want their maps in return though, that's the only way we'll make these OBs profitable. I declined the final two trades because I don't think we're playing with tech trading. The gist of those admittedly crazy messages seem to be that they want to work with us against the Lanun, who are winning. Which is reasonable enough.
When I opened the save at the start of my turnset, it seemed clear we couldn't catch the Lanun playing a normal econ game, they're already too far ahead. It also looks like Bob has set us up to be drafting Firebows; we were in overcouncil, 2t from Bowyers. That seemed like a good plan to me so I ran with it. Trying to get every city an archery range and get them on a drafting cycle so each will give an LB every 6t. That's a great use for our extra Agri-farm food. The problem is that the firebows come out with 0xp and no promos, so I need to go farm some xp first before the army is ready. I didn't realise that firebows didn't start with FireII btw, I thought the first promo would go on mobility. Anyway, that's been my basic plan, here's a city run through:
This place lacked an archery range and I couldn't figure out what I was going to do with it. In the end I bit the bullet and cash rushed the archery range last turn. It drafted a firebow this turn and started a settler so the unhappiness doesn't hurt too much.
The first firebow battle, which we lose, not the most auspicious start. I think this would have given 5xp, so I felt it was worth crossing the river. Hopefully these will go better:
Serble completed it's archery range last turn and drafted one of those firebows, the other coming from Bazooka. I'm hoping for two fireballs here and then to use those to weaken the defenders of the barb city for more firebows to finish. I think it's worth delaying the barb city capture to make sure the firebows get the xp.
Public baths and kilmorph spread incoming for happiness.
Soon draft another here. I might stack some draft anger actually in Serble and Bazooka to speed up the barb city timetable. We should also probably complete the specialist here sometime.
Capital drafted last turn after completing the public baths to deal with the unhappy. Thane heading toward Serble. A couple of Paramanders might be decent to defend the stack, I might put hammers toward those.
Should be completed before any potential Lanun invasion. Probable Heroic Epic city afterward. Unfortunately, it's quite vulneruble being on the coast. Might have to invest in a navy if we want to defend it properly. I actually drafted this city too, since it had the pop and the happiness and I wanted to give 1 mine away anyway. Not sure if that should be a regular occurence.
The only city that hasn't been drafted yet, badly needs these baths. Then I think I want to finish the GM/GP for a probable shrine.
This seems like the best NE spot to me, though other cities should try complete their pools while we're Philosophical. Btw, there was one or two Temple of Kilmorphs in the queue when I first got the save, I don't think that's worth it since we don't have gems and we don't have religion.
Some drafted firebows making their way over here. We have odds on these archers since the city is on flatland.
Rethink has a similar issue to Paradigm shift, might end up cash-rushing this archery range too. I popped borders with a thane for the corn.
Gems! and Schmucks! If we do get an opportunity to hit the Lanun, this might be a good place. After Bowyers I teched KotE, figuring that haste and floating eyes would be a good addition to any army. Loop is building the mage guild and will start on adepts, it's also obviously been drafted.
Another city that should be on the firebow xp list. I stole a worker off these barbs.
Why we probably need to fight. Good to see tops in soldiers.
I'm not too sure what to tech now. We'll need Mil Strat for the HE, but no point until the Mines have been completed, so I'm just saving gold for now. Fishing and Naval techs would be useful for trade routes, especially if the Luchuirp ones go through. Drama would be reasonable since Kilmorph doesn't pop borders but the payback of ~8 new cities sounds too long to me. Smelting for Ind forges could be good, though a lot of production is coming through drafting and we don't need Iron. Construction, Priesthood and Sorcery Line are all options.
Since my last there was no answer, I'll be more direct. Maps of luchuirp, apologies no violated, are much, much more valuable. We have spent 3/4 of the way around the world right now, and explored three different continents. With Amurites just starting their continent maps (which is understandable given the starting position). A business swap, would not be fair for us as we've explored much further (open borders do nothing for astronomy, we have no interest in exploring the near future, so it is more for express goodwill). We are willing to pay much indeed for your views, because with it we can get to get the whole ring and the possibility of defeating the Overlord-for loans. As soon as we get Circumnav although I personally promise that we will gift you our map of the world (that is, of course, all my time as Luchuirp, which is only 4-5 rounds). Not willing to go over 100ish gold, however, so if you really want the Lanun to get so absolute advantage, then they!
Please reply if you want to negotiate further, but it is actually quite desperate, as Lanuns have captured one of the careval of our choice and are definitely competing for it, so please respond. Remember, this is 100 gold (maybe a full firebow?) And the map of our world (3 Terra) instead of getting the whole ring, which is an advantage that you have no chance of winning.
Please answer please we do not have much chance against Lanus in this map and started our sterile, so we have to work together.
Sorry about that! Just didn't bother to think as I don't have the rules in my mind with such big breaks.

Honestly, this stuff is very difficult to understand!
Regarding your main point, circumnavigation, check the event log, the Lanun have already won this race. If not, I would have been happy to give you our map in the hope they don't get it. However, in the current situation, I'm not giving up our map unless we get yours in return. If you want to work together against the Lanun, then prove it. If you think your map is valuable we can offer to pay for it.
It is hard for us to co-operate against the Lanun unless we have a clear understanding of what the world looks like.
Heh, that was funny, I'm offering to pay them for their map, but it comes out as us demanding money from them
