Yeah, so you're right Mardoc, I'm precisely not following the plan.

...but the general benefits are very nice. Look how much these Org courthouses are worth! I now have zero excuse not to expand all over. Sadly, I also finally have happy to grow more too.

Raging Barbarians are silly, and Ruff is easily the most under-expanded.

His economy is going very well, consequently.

Turn Seventy...(slowing down badly, yo)
...okay, actually turn seventy-one, but turn seventy was in a rush and boring. My demos for the turn are most exceedingly excellent; GNP and MFG rocking, CY high, power...low. Huh. Odd skew, particularly given the relatively low population (and land area). What's that?

Oh. That. X3
[Image: Civ4ScreenShot0367.JPG]

It's a tragically early golden age, but I could see shrine or settlement being worth more. Ergo, here we are. Obviously I made the best of it by flipping civics and going Confucian; I'll end the age with a nice Bureau swap back.

I locked down the culture output in the Cahoots Sector; with stone there is basically zero reason to *not* build the Great Wall. So, within my borders I'm now Imperialistic, and I'll eventually get half my next golden age from the points.

Great Person numero duo was promptly turned into an academy; this should see me top researcher for a while once I'm in Bureau here. Hogwash is gonna be awesome. And Hanging Gardens are soon, I hope! Omg

(Madder than a) Sack o'Cats was born and will be nicely helpful to the cause; I just need, um, like two more archers or maybe nine longbows to feel safer in it. I failed at claiming the lion's share of the middle, but I'll do my darnest to wedge in at least my fair share. Very cautious crowd here. I want to put another town (Sam Hill) to the south.

The worker-death-camp of the gemmed middle needs a claimin too, but I'll have to clear that pesky barb town before my dot can be planted on the map.

I don't think I'll wait on those last for the HG; I need the health and I don't want to lose it.

Milestone: Doubled.

It's been a good Golden Age, even if it hasn't been a perfect one. I'm in bureaucracy now, so I'm about to turn up the crank bang out Paper->Education->Meditation->Philosophy->Liberalism. Only really side track was getting iron working this turn; see the reason to the lower right. Hanging Gardens will actually be sandbagged one more turn to get two more cities settled.

Certainly, if all goes well, we should have some really benefit from IW. Gem/rice city here will be a nice little shot in the arm, economy-wise. The chariot and archer might be able to clear out the troubles next turn and gain a nice free worker in the deal, too.

Here are the post-GA demos. Definitely doing well, although hardly a runaway yet, and I'm a GA behind the rest now. Most worrisome is Oxy, who is top CY and top soldiers, and has a horse archer, ho ho ho. SPEARS!

...need to remember he's got a Great Spy roaming around too. scared

Success! And 14 gold, and a captured worker. Very nice haul, we'll get those gems online the turn after the Gardens land this way.

We're working on the not crashing of the economy whilst we rush to longbows. We do this the way Napoleon does best...whip dem courthouses!

Big turn; first we grew, then we really grew. Up to a nice wide nine cities now; things are humming along well enough in the ole' economy that I only need two and a half cities on wealth to 2t the remainder of Feudalism here. I look forward to longbows because those horses archers are getting aggressive, and Oxy has enough power to have a big stack of them.

The post-hung-garden Fitter Fiddle is a less than inspiring city right now, frankly, but it'll get gems and ivory and rice online soon enough. Whippin' in the granary just got sped up nicely.

Fine Frogfur, on the other hand, is already most excellent and will only look better as more and more of this lushness comes online. This will be the last place that gets cottages...unless I decide I can beeline Communism fast enough for it to not matter. We'll see how Liberalism Race goes. This might be a Taj Chopping Place.

Score.

Caption: How many longbows do I need to make this settle feel safe?

Answer is somewhere north of infinity.
