Yup, just tested it. Having Subdue promo with your scout didn't give any additional bonus against HG. HGs are considered as Animals (in game) but still having Beast as their unitclass. I guess it makes sense that as they can't be captured with Subdue animals promotion, but why are they considered as Animals in the first place? Subdue beast promotion obviously gives bonus against HGs though, so it's pretty weird. They're somewhat animals and somewhat beasts if you consider the promotions that give you bonus against them.

Indeed, but should scouts starting +50% be given against Hill Giants that are beasts instead of animals?

Still, even if it's only +95% vs Spider, I think a Str 3 scout should have a pretty good shot. Especially if I use two of them. If you want I can copy-paste it here since it doesn't require spoilers. Hmm. Good to know, maybe I'm being overly sensitive. But no, I don't need details. If he still wanted to redo something, then maybe I'd ask, but he seems to have talked himself out of asking for it. Even there, if he really wants to redo, I guess I don't have any particular objection. Except that it would mean negative net turns this week. Sure, I might maybe lose the wolf battle (or lose my opportunity to fight), but I'm pretty sure Northstar's strategic skillz will outweigh all RNG factors this game I'll find your post after our game is done.

Northstar continues to baffle. He wants to redo the turn...but only if we can do it with a BLITZ. I don't want to blitz. I've got too much going on in my life right now to set aside a block of time for only civ.
Besides, it seems his active time is from 11 pm to 2:30am - or in other words from 'after bedtime' to 'hell, no'. That pretty much just would leave the weekends, which are my only chance to catch up on house projects. For instance, we're currently installing a raised bed vegetable garden; not much point if we can't finish that by the time the seeds need to go in the ground. I offered that we can rewind and not blitz, but I doubt he'll go with that.

Besides, it's not like the pace here is blitz related anyway. Never had a blitz with Bob, and we're on T78 in the six weeks since we started. Had impromptu blitzes with Old Lion but nothing arranged in advance, and that's T130ish in eight weeks.
I honestly think he's aiming to put an asterisk on this game, rather than actually fix the problem. If he wanted to fix it, he'd have sent me the replayed turn along with the current one (or instead of), so we could already be reclaiming that time. We could be caught up to present by, y'know, Thursday, if he simply played the turn twice a day without the drama of 'must blitz'. But now he can say 'well, I would have won, if not for that bug that Mardoc didn't want to fix'.

Ha, he proposed me with a blitz as well. I took it though - if that's the way I'll get more than 2 turns/week from him, so be it

Northstar, by e-mail Wrote:Alright, that's understandable. The reason I connected the bug-revert with a blitz is because I could quickly replay those turns without needing to think about them at all- thus making them *excellent* material for a blitz and creating minimal delay by re-hashing them. But if you don't have time to sit down and devote an hour to knocking out 6 or 7 turns one evening, then I guess I'll just have to eat the bug... It actually *does* hurt me in several significant ways, but seeing as you seem to be lagging behind in the game right now I guess I can cut you a little slack (although it'll probably come back to bite me when you're ahead...) I was tempted to argue with several of his casual assumptions there (like his memory of bargaining about Wildlands), but in the end decided to stick to the facts. Mardoc Wrote:If you happen to be online when I am, ~7:30-9 pm eastern, I will return any save you send me. I cannot manage any times outside of that window. Of course this e-mail did not come attached to a save or anything. Neither the rewound save nor the 'eat the bug' save. It would have been less effort than composing that e-mail. But then he wouldn't have been able to accuse me of cheating again. I think, once this duel is over, I will figure out the RB 'ignore list' feature. I've never felt a need for it before. Edit: Oh, now it's your fault, Kragroth. Quote:Kragroth is already trying to force a partner on me, so I'd prefer not to have any setbacks if we can't arrange a blitz to keep up. Will be sending the save shortly... Nothing is ever Northstar's fault, noooo. He's a perfect little angel who everyone likes to pick on
