[spoilers] In the year 2101 AD

I really wish someone would have pointed this out to me before I made my plans because then I would have not swapped govt on T59 and gotten the GG on T60. Right now conquest of arabia is completely out the window since I need to defend when Rome comes knocking. I guess I will play on but not happy at all since I dont see how Alham can lose this game.

I don't see where you ever outlined your plan, certainly not in enough detail to be making unsolicited lurker comments. Further more I thought that you were going to beat Rome to the GGeneral by multiple turns. Unfortunate turn of events as it would have been a more interesting game all around if you have the GG instead of Rome  alright good luck in your efforts to stop Rome and claw back.

While I don't know the exact mechanics behind it. The Global Era from Rise & Fall leads to much more Great People from one Era than the Vanilla game. So that must have tripped you up as well. Just my observation from two or three R&F games, most notably also one as Scotland where I was grabbing Great People from the same era left and right.

I guess this game is continuing so I will write down my plans. Gotta admit that I lost a lot of enthusiasm for this game because of the GP issue (GP era = World era+1? Lolwut. Another evidence against Fraxis/2kgames) and turn pace.

The most important problem is rome, who is now besieging Grot's new plant with only 1 sword. A bit complacent? Also noticed that rome's power has not risen for a while and I basically caught up to them now. Do I intervene? I can defend that city with 3 swords if Grot can hold out for 5 more turns. After some thought, my conclusion is to intervene with 3 swordmen if there are no new units. Because the alt strategy is to attack with knights and I have to imagine that he will have some money for 3 upgrades, and we would be locked in a stalemate so this might be the best chance to slow Rome down. I am sending a horseman that can slow down any late reinforcements.

2nd most important problem is culture, which I am trailing really badly to Rome. Will build monuments at cap (after settler, commercial hub, then worker), AYBABTU (after 2nd horseman, campus, and worker though), and Hollywood (4th city after current worker).

3rd biggest problem is the GM because I did see that Rome placed a CH. Did notice that Rome's civic is ahead of me now, and I can guess that Rome will now build districts overflowing from walls. My 1st CH will be at cap after chop overflow from settler. 2nd CH at 5th city. 3rd CH at AYBABTU but need that city to hit size 7 and a 2nd encampment and 2 Entertaintments build for a discount. 5th city by 2nd horse can build 1st entertainment. 6th city directly S of cap can build 2nd ED. 7th city on border with arabia will get 2nd encampment.

Expansion. Cap and CATS are building settlers for 5th and 6th city. next 2 settlers have to come from cap but 1 can be boosted by double jungle chops. CATS will have to build another worker after settler for cap jungle chops.

Feudalism. worker from AYBABTU can build plantation at bananas and farm 2 tiles to increase housing cap. Worker from cap will harvest rice for 6th city then go back to farm the formerly jungle times.

GG. Really need her. I will now decide to change my civic to Military training to unlock stategos again, swaping out manuever. Build archers and spearmen while Defensive tactics is researching. When DT is done, swap back to manuever.

I cast the die as they say and declared oh Alham when he made a mistake in exposing a 2 promo legion with on flat ground with no support units. Used the horseman to strike the killing blow from N to S. Now lets see all hell break loose.

Capital build: Settler->CH, Worker for AYBABTU, settler/trader/monument in some order
CATS: Settler, builder then units
AYBABTU: Finish campus, Encampment project/monument/spearman in some order
Hollywood: Worker for 5th city, Cereal, worker for capital, worker for cereal, monument, units?
Cereal: Spearman->CH, Commercial projects
6th city Flood: Monument then worker.

Change of plans.

AYBABTU: Finish campus, Ram, Monument, Spearman/Archer

Alham is not replenishing his army and I think he is saving gold for knight upgrades. Counter will be to hopefully get amsterdam to declare in 5 turns and pillage the commercial hubs in Alham's backlines with the scout.

Grand stretegy is to conquer Grot's old cap and 2nd city, Peace with romans, finish grot. Then backfill to 16 cities.

Got Aryabhata who will go on a long journey to SE to uncover the lands before spreading his knowledge. Hopefully he can find a natural wonder for the Seoul quest since the scout is stuck in Rome territory. Next GS is Hildegard so aim for the renaissance GS. Founded Cereal and immediately harvested cow so it will be size 3 next turn. Bought horse tile and upgrades 2 more warriors so broke again. No more unit upgrades until age of knights. Did not renew friendship with grot to attack eventually and he responded moving his 2 units E. Hope they don't interfere when I start attacking Saunders on T83.

Really annoyed that an archer shot the scout, who is now running for his life. 2nd annoying thing? How roman legion can chop! 3rd annoying thing, Rome's military buildup and Russian army strength not moving. I feel like I been played for a fool but we will see when I attack on T83.
