We're agg so Maces are probably better than Longbows if we can hold out until then. I like the harbor idea. Am I right in thinking that CS isn't a terrible boost to our civ?

Your double negatives confuse me, but what I THINK you are saying is that CS (and Bureaucracy) would not be a huge boost to our civ.
If that's what you were saying then I agree with you. Mostly that's because we've been whipping our capital for settlers and not letting it grow, which at some point we will stop doing.
I've moved our research on to Compass, which we'll complete in 2 turns. The only annoying part about Compass is that it's a close to if not complete monopoly tech, so we don't get any known civ bonuses

Here's 2 shots of most of our newer cities
In the north, here are 4 new cities. There's room for 2 more up here (including the planned NP/NE city), but I think I'll probably hold off on the silver / crabs city for awhile. We're nowhere near our happy cap (which with religion and forge is currently 11, not counting dyes or ivory which we have but haven't hooked up)
South
Glenway and Dixie are the newbies down here - the next 2 cities to found are probably Buttermilk (on the plako border in the SE) and Western Row on the SW "island"
WK's "refuge" city of Zion was auto-razed by Adlain in the east, and there's another city site in addition to that in the east if we want it.
After that, it's the

F4/Tech screen is not exciting, as only Locke has Alphabet. You should ask him in his thread to post a copy (and then email it to me )

Quote:Hmm protective longbows are definitely not something that we want to tackle right now. But that's okay - I don't think a Classical war is really in anyone's best interests. I agree that Knights (or maybe even later?) is the way to go (if ever). Remember too that we're Aggressive, so us providing melee or gunpowder units to a war coalition is better than mounted (or archery or siege).
We appreciate your offer on the tech screenshot but it's not something that we're likely ever going to take you up on. 50g is really quite a bit higher than our estimation of its value. Plus, the longer we hold out, the more likely someone ELSE is going to tech Alphabet :-)
Speaking of cities - how many more city sites do you think you have before you run out of land? You mentioned Parkin's big tract of land (which is true), but you guys have quite a bit of land in the central jungle to your north, right? You'll probably have to discuss it with moogle / adlain / mackoti, but I'd imagine you guys get the majority of it?

Sounds like a contradiction in terms to me, although I have no idea what breakeven gold is.
I have to run.

Brad is one of my clients. He seems like a nice guy. Very talented, but his body pretty much died on him.

That was, uh, clearly a typo to elicit more posts! What I meant was at max gold (0% science)

Looks like Adlain has also gotten himself Alphabet.
He has up on us:
* Meditation (138)
* Feudalism (1207)
* Alphabet (517)
We have up on him:
* Polytheism (172)
* Monotheism (207)
* Metal Casting (775)
* and 388 beakers of Compass
So he is up 320 beakers on us currently.

Ehehehe...yes, I guess the Tech screen is dull without Alphabet.
Thanks for the screenies, though.
