[SPOILERS] Lewger goes for the Bigwyn

yeah we should at least move 1 S to get vision on it. it should only have warriors, if it doesnt have to many we can attack, raze, promote, heal up smile.

I went ahead and switched the odyssey to the corn. seems worth it. it delays the spear by a turn, but it will still complete by the time the treaty expires. the chariot isn't essential.

the overflow from the granary will allow us to 1 turn the spear in the aeneid smile. then we can put a turn into the walls and whip them, that overflow should 1 turn the archer. woohoo.

Cassandra is done with her work in volsung, next turn she can load onto the galley and return to the homeland. where should we drop her off?
I was thinking - on the second furs. we can chop, camp, road it, and then have her move to complete the half finished cottage. the chop can go into an axe, and the extra furs would be useful as trade bait before too long. (brick for some reason doesnt have any happies, but I'm hoping we meet someone south of serdoa that will trade maps with us to get a trade connection, and we probably will have a monopoly on furs).

Actually if we went Barracks + settled GG we'd get 5XP for every unit without having to build the stable. I'm okay with that. I agree with chopping the barracks then. Will start that.

Need to priority mine the hill 2S of the cap. And start a better road from Maths to Odyssey. The worker by Odyssey is going to get a tile for Aenid to work since its almost out of improved tiles. Worker on Galley could be importnat for mining and roading operations.

3 Chops into barracks and Settled GG overflow into Axe.

oh, a barracks is 3 experience isn't it <G>. brain fart.

Do we want the gg in gilgamesh then? .. no, I think math is better. it will eventually have higher production than gilgamesh, and won't have cottages - gilgamesh will need to stop producing units for things like libraries, markets, oxford, where math will be able to produce nothing but units most of the game.

w/ the general we can put off the stables for awhile... probably want to go ahead nad build it before we are producing knights, but not now.

build the plains road first, then build cottages for the aeneid. the aeneid will be fine until size 4 and since we have to whip walls we won't reach size 4 soon.

plus that road HAS to be built before the peace treaty expires.

Lewwyn, whats the purpose of Chryseis putting a turn into a cottage here?
It doesnt save any worker turns - like say, roading the corn would have. and a cottage there won't be used until the sheep/horse city is founded and theodyssey needs to give up the sheep. we need cottages east of the odyssey that the aeneid can work.

after this turn, we'll have 4 more turns of peace (I think). roading the plains will take 3 turns (since she can't move and road the same turn) so we need to start it next turn so we don't have to worry about logging on before azza to move the worker. I don't mind that you ignored my advice for the returning silver worker but this seems like a no brainer tongue.

also, what are your thoughts on our army split between the two cities? I feel like we have way too much in the aeneid and the odyssey is undermanned. we have 3 archers, an axe, and a warrior (plus a soon to be completed spear) in the odyssey. we have 2.5 archers, a soon to be completed spear, and and 3 chariots in the aeneid (plus one of the archers is CG2). I guess it useful to have a couple of chariots there, since they can flank around from the aeneid and harass the living end if needed. but one should move back. and if we build walls there I don't think we'll need an axe in the aeneid? the cg2 archer will have a 120% defense bonus. plus we'll end up building an axe there soon that can be whipped in an emergency and will be stranded in the aeneid if war breaks out. PLUS it would make much more since for azza to go after the odyssey than the aeneid.

I noticed you took the walls out of the build queue in the aeneid - do you not want to build walls there? again, this seems like a no brainer after the spear- with the PRO trait we can build it for one turn, then whip it and the overflow should complete the archer - allowing us to complete all 3 before the treaty expires. it will be 39 turns before the aeneid expands its borders again, so the extra 30% defense bonus will be very useful if azza tries to snipe the aeneid.

as for the road from Math to the sheep - gilgamesh expands its borders again NEXT turn, which will be very convenient for building that road. Briseis can start it the following turn as the farm will be finished by then.

this is why I want to connect the furs:

Brick finally got a happy, connecting whales. I have a feeling that he would accept a fur for whales trade, since it would be breakeven for him and he is showing signs of being friendly. would be worth trying anyway. I offered him whales for 2 health resources, since we don't need them, although I don't expect him to accept the deal.

Maybe we offer furs for whales and connect the second furs if he accepts?

It does save a worker turn because I am not going to road the plains tile. I decided that if we want to attack we'll simply move two workers onto the plains tile and road the turn we attack. If we're not planning on attacking for 20 turns there's also a possibility he could retake those tiles and I don't want to give him a free road. The 1turn into a cottage here and then we cottage East of Odyssey on the road.

Looking back through the thread I don't know what you posted about the silver worker. Can't find it? EDIT: found it. Sorry just missed it, not a bad idea. I think gilgamesh's mine and the road take priority though, plus I already moved, my bad. We can send some workers to the furs after we have the road to speed units from maths.

The armies are fine in both cities. If he moves in we can hit from both cities no problem. The issue I have is that we don't have enough axes nor enough spears yet.

I think we might put one turn into walls before peace ends and then leave it and only whip it if he attacks, but not before. Seems like something we might not even need so we shouldn't waste a whip on that unless we really need it.

I don't like that you sent two health resources for the whales. That would severely annoy me if people did that to me. Obviously I'm not going to do that trade. Don't send lopsided diplo trades just for the hell of it. Real people will get upset.

I don't think Brick will get upset, especially after he proposed the silly sheep for sheep deal. But point taken.

yeah the 1 turn into a wall, but not whipping until its needed, is a great solution. I still think the odyssey is understaffed. obviously if we don't have war for 10 turns or so after peace that will be easily fixed, but I'm going to be nervous in the meantime. oh well I guess we can always whip an axe there if we absolutely have to.

I think we'll hold the plains tile for quite awhile - he hasn't even completed the monument yet. but I see your point about giving him the free road. anyway a cottage 1E of the corn will be more useful and safe from attack by azza.

Well that wasn't silly, it served the purpose of telling us he wanted to be friends.
