The only thing left to do is log back in after Yuri plays, found HnF, send the workers to plantation, and end turn.

I will say that I disagree with your south pole exploration journey smoke - I think that boat would be much better served getting back up towards inferno island where it could ferry units around or serve as naval defense

Cyneheard offered silver and 2gpt for spices. I declined, intending to offer him our spare spice straight up for silver next turn. But... apparently we already had a few turns into the 2nd spice plantation, as 2 workers were able to finish it this turn.

So I offered him spices for silver straight up this turn. He'll hopefully get it next turn. Founded Hans and Franz on Inferno Island. It cost us 4gpt. Its crazy far location is actually only costing us about 2-3 more gold due to distance than a regularly far city.

Hmm.... not sure Yuri likes our new settlement...

So Rego and I chatted a bit and we decided to offer Yuri 3gpt to let us keep Hans & Franz. The city is a net drain for us right now, and it isn't the best spot, so we don't want to have to pay too much to keep it.

Yuri did not take the deal. He did propose a counter-offer, though:

Interesting. Can you do the C&D to see how much he has in his treasury? ( or does UI show it)? Will the city fall if you refuse? Better to get something out of it, if so.

I offered 4gpt and bananas. Deadfort is empty, so I recommend we send our galley back next turn. If Yuri invades, we load up the archer and threaten to raze his city.

Edit: CRAP I FORGOT TO PUT THE SLIDER BACK TO 100% duh

I agree with both of these. I will log in here in a sec and check things out

He declared war. Moved in the 2 axes, but did not move in any forces on the "mainland" (his mainland, of course).

As I read it, the first axe will have 22.89% (5.5 vs. our 6.3 and a FS) odds on our archer. I didn't do the math but I would assume that the odds are high that he will at least damage it significantly enough to let the 2nd axe kill it. Okay obviously I'm enough of a dork that I will do the math.

We should get 25 for hills, 50 for city, 25 for crossing the river and 15 for fortification. So running through that the combat calculator and figgering the percentages, I show 84% chance for him to take the city as it stands

We can't get the archer out this turn on the galley, but we can move the galley back and evacuate NEXT turn, if he chooses to cross the river this turn (which he very well may)

So that's one option. Other option is to just take the 100g offer (or counter for 150 or something else)

I do think it's a good sign that he did not move in any forces on his mainland, and a nice olive branch could be useful (TILL WE STAB HIM IN THE BACK LATER ON!!! hammer) lol

The other thing to think about is if we lock in 10t of guaranteed peace plus the assumed mid to longer term peace of such a deal, we could swap over to something besides the "war" techs of Construction and HBR.

Thankfully you brilliantly opted to run max tax last turn instead of turning on science to Construction thumbsup lol
