He declared war. Moved in the 2 axes, but did not move in any forces on the "mainland" (his mainland, of course).
As I read it, the first axe will have 22.89% (5.5 vs. our 6.3 and a FS) odds on our archer. I didn't do the math but I would assume that the odds are high that he will at least damage it significantly enough to let the 2nd axe kill it. Okay obviously I'm enough of a dork that I will do the math.
We should get 25 for hills, 50 for city, 25 for crossing the river and 15 for fortification. So running through that the combat calculator and figgering the percentages, I show 84% chance for him to take the city as it stands
We can't get the archer out this turn on the galley, but we can move the galley back and evacuate NEXT turn, if he chooses to cross the river this turn (which he very well may)
So that's one option. Other option is to just take the 100g offer (or counter for 150 or something else)
I do think it's a good sign that he did not move in any forces on his mainland, and a nice olive branch could be useful (TILL WE STAB HIM IN THE BACK LATER ON!!!
