Not sure what that thing is, but it's perfect.

Looks like a pirate to me. pirate

In the middle of the fifteenth century, the first truly effective spy network in the form of the Aztec Society came about. In the vast Aztec Empire, the people overthrew their kings and set the nationalistic Great Parliament within the capital. From the nearby French Academie, the secrets of galleon design were stolen, and reports were sent from agents in more distant lands. One, a Splacozuma, wrote the following report to his superiors in 1452, some time after the construction of the Spiral Minaret.

To the Ministers of the Council of States,
Rumors have abounded for quite some time, but I can herein confirm, the King of the Generics has granted settlement rights to the family of Kom Kalin for the Island of Balm, a little to the south of Ivorria. The province of Black Sand Hill is ordered to provide support to the new city from workshops in the border.

The Grand Duke will not be pleased. For the edification of the newer members of the council; the Grand Duchy of Morning Glens is the most prominent realm within the greater Kingdom of Generica. The Grand Dukes personally financed and sponsored the conquest of the West Roman remnant, and control six major cities and their provinces. In the great ocean, they are the premier Generic power. To the north of the Grand Duchy is the city of Brair Hollow and the military lords there report directly to the crown, whereas to the south the family of Kom Kalin holds sway.

Coldspring Way, the seat of the Kom Kalin Dukes' power, is a great city and the only place that comes even close to rivaling the Grand Duchy's population and wealth; the extension of the Ligurian Duchy's interests into the ocean to their west is to be regarded as a promising sign.

The other major ramification of the Balm Island settlement is that the southern Great Ocean remains but lightly held by the Genericans; Bella Vista province remains small and there are reports of large French naval detachments patrolling the region; perhaps the crown wishes to increase its own naval representation to ensure security before settling all the claimed islands in the area.

I'm *really* not liking your tech path Commodore.

SciMeth--> Communism is expensive and leaves us without any advanced military.

If you want to win by space, we'll need to push Serdoa off of our continent. You'll need the additional beaker/hammer power.

At a bare minimum, you'll need to hold the lands you already have. Knowing where the Oil is early is nice. Kremlin and SP are awesome.

But some proper war toys in the form of Frigates and Rifles (Cannon and Grennies would be nice as well wink ) are even more awesome.

Note that Chemistry also gives us an additional 20% boost to teching Sci Meth, as well as Frigates, opening up Steel, Frigates, opening up Steam power, Frigates, opening up Military Science, Frigates.

Chemistry also gets us access to Frigates.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned it yet or not, but getting some Frigates in the water soon would be very nice. smile

Aye, I could see the timing being right. Kind of waiting to see if the ToA city nets a GM, might change a few things in the sequence. Wall Street will be a bear to build in The Greenways, if the shrine city is indeed where we build it. Anyway, main news of the turn as seen before, Oxford online and so the tech is coming up.

Also up, everyone's power. It's a dangerous world out there...one odd thing is that the Zulu went to Caste in a golden age, so weirdly enough they're not whipping more in the Cheetah fight. Serdoa better be aiming not-south.

I'm aiming...well, I'm a bit aimless at the moment, but if I start seeing more fireworks in the east I might have to bring some favors of my own. GLH and Hindu shrine sure would be nice...but I mistrust Serdoa and Bigger...frigates, that's the solution. What do triremes auto-upgrade to once Chemistry hits?

Sinky, sinky time. hammer

(and the banks be mainly for gpt rather than WS given your anticipated tech path.....Eco/Corp post Constitution does nail an extra tr per city...worth a minimum of 2 commerce per city, more in most cases, so well worthwhile if playing for the long game.)

Economics is a 20 commerce per turn loss first, though, and 10-11 of that in the capital's heavy +% environment. Castles, baby. Plus, I'd rather bait the free settled GG event a bit longer.

...but yeah, post-Chemistry, we can look again.
