[SPOILERS] Lewger goes for the Bigwyn

well, fwiw, i agree. the advantage of numbers (city/prod/etc) will be more decisive in the long run. im not sure of the likelihood that you get to grab that all (the other teams will vie for it). Also if he's seen it, Azza will know the instant you capture that city - so that might change his course as well.

I'm not really concerned about that, as long as we keep pumping troops and have the galley in the area to transport over reinforcements to barb city.
anyway, this is fun

thats at 100% science, which we can just barely sustain for 1 turn, but still nice to see #1 GNP again wink.

I reconfigured tiles for our 4 core cities. gilgamesh is size 8 now, happy cap, working crabs, cottages, and 2 mines. last axe for a bit finishes in 3 turns. iliad will work the 2 grains for those 3 turns, grow to size 5 in 2 turns, get some food in the box that will allow it to grow to size 6 working just cottages (another whip unhappy wears off in 5 turns, so thats good).

the odyssey actually grew this turn, even though it was in revolt last turn (if you remember it had 24/24 food in the box thanks to the bad event). I didn't realize that was possible, but thats awesome smile. its working sheep & 2 mines to keep from going too quickly. the aeneid on the same tiles as last turn.

lewwyn, let me know if you need me to play more turns. remember to let azza play first, and to join the GG to math before you end turn - the axe finishes this turn.

All of that sounds good to me. How tough a nut will his rbmod praetorians be to crack? Or will he have something else by the time you attack?

Serdoa captured that barb city. Next turn we'll move into position and then boat up close see what is in the city and if he has a worker on the sheep or something. He's had the city for a while. Long enough to rid of unrest plus I don't see him taking it on civstats so it must have been a bit ago.

Wtf. Unexpected. I won't be able to login until tomorrow, but my first reaction is that we have to take that city from serdoa at all costs. I actually wouldn't be that bothered short term by azza taking it, but serdoa is a different story. We can transport units from the Aeneid to former barb city in 2 turns so we should be able to get units over there quickly. Maybe we should offer azza a sheep for sheep type deal to signal we want peace and focus all our attention on the eastern peninsula. I'm much more concerned about claiming the land in the east than recapturing Beowulf ATM. We can get Beowulf back 50 turns from now, it doesn't matter

crazyeye Map trade. We have vision on every civ and most of all the land... I actually think we might have lucked out in terms of placement and land, btu I didn't have a chance to absorb it all. Suffice to say we're doing well in terms of cities and expansion even with the war.

Azza moved the HA up but I finished the pigs then retreated them. The Axe and arcehr are covering and the chariots in the city. I started an axe instead of an HA in Maths because we are going to need some more shock axes to fight praets. Higher priority than HAs.

I will wait for Serdoa to play so I don't double move him before moving the galley with uints.

ok, im back on the grid. Gonna log in in a little bit and take a bunch of pics - since it seems Lewwyn is only capable of taking pics from pbems wink.

Expect a large report later tonight.

edit: lewwyn, I'm gonna be logged in for awhile taking pictures for a report. post here if you're ready to play the turn, I can log out quickly

Lewwyn, did we get this whole map just from the trade with Brick, or did we do a trade with azza or serdoa too?

hmm, if just from Brick this is good news. we know where 8 out of 11 civs are, and we may have benefitted from getting a late writing (in that Brick did his trades already and won't trade our map with others, hopefully).
