Hey guys, is there still room and not too late for another? I'd love to join. Came here looking for an FFH pbem game specifically a couple of days ago, and only just found this thread now.
I have only a small amount of both multiplayer and FFH experience, but I'm a capable civ player and should be competitive enough.

Sure both of you can join. The only problem is that it brings the total to 9 players, which is too much for one game if we want to keep it around 1 turn a day. So then we have to split it into two games.
Toshi and Irgy, what are your preferences on restricted vs unrestricted leaders? If we get enough players that want unrestricted leaders, perhaps one game can be unrestricted leaders and the other is restricted leaders (so Selrahc isn't bored )?

I have a slight philosophical preference for restricted leaders. Although I can certainly see the argument for unrestricted. I'm generally happy with whatever options, just a bit happier with the ones I'm more familiar with.
For what it's worth my vote for other settings would basically be the defaults, I'm somewhat unadventurous with settings. But as I said I'll take whatever comes.

Oh, good, having two extra players means we can definitely split into two games. And, given T-Hawk's description of how easy it would be to maintain two patches, it seems like we can assume everyone can be on patch O for these games. At least, I assume Selrahc and Bob would rather rename their mod twice a day than have a boring but patch n game
So the natural place to split is by type of game - do you want plain vanilla, or something with a bit of spice? Selrahc and Bob have several ideas on the spicy side, but personally I'd rather be in the vanilla game.
For Vanilla, I'd prefer something like restricted leaders in the sense of gotta take one who goes with the civ, but unrestricted otherwise - preferably just ban the Calabim for variety's sake, but I could also get on board with banning all leaders who've previously been used, or everyone allowed. With most of the other decisions, like Acheron and special features and the like, the settings used in PBEM 1 and 2 seem to work well.
I will, however, also dedicated lurk someone in the spicy game, if they'll have me .

I'd also prefer to be in the vanilla game.

I don't mind which game I'm in.
Since FfH has plenty of randomness and dice rolls already, anyone interested in RANDOM leaders/civs? Alternatively we could let the lurkers pick for us

Better still, just make a copy of the desktop shortcut to FfH2:
1) Right click the current Fall from Heaven 2 shortcut on the desktop and pick "copy" from the dialog box.
2) Hold down the Ctrl button and press the V key. A new shortcut called "Fall from Heaven 2 - Copy" will be created on your desktop.
3) Right click the "Fall from Heaven 2 - Copy" shortcut and pick "rename" from the dialog box. Edit the name to something easy, like "Fall from Heaven 2N".
4) Right click the "Fall from Heaven 2N" shortcut, and select "properties" from the dialog box. A new box will open. Pick the shortcut tab and select the target edit box (this happens automatically on my Windows 7). Edit the end of the target text to point to your new folder.
5) Double left click on the appropriate shortcut to play with the corresponding patch.

I'm okay with both being in vanilla or the "variant" game
Either way is fine for me, just put in whatever needs more players :P

I'm going to sit this one out. Since my laptop can barely handle FFH as it is, having to switch between two different versions every day is going to be more of a headache (and more time consuming) than I'm willing to put up with. Since I have the Steam version of BTS I can't just load FFH from a shortcut, either. I'm going to start a 1 vs 1 FFH PBEM 5 game with Dave, so I'm set for games now anyway. Sorry!

I'm on patch o already I believe.
I also have no pref when it comes to vanilla or unrestricted. I wouldn't mind random civ (random leader as well?!) since that's how I've been playing the single player anyway.
I could also lurk someone from the other game.
Oh and just an idea but have you guys considered teAm games at all? I haven't been around long to see how theyr played but I imagine it changes the dynamics quite a bit
