Due to a server error, Guild Wars experienced an unintentional reset of the traders. For nearly an hour, traders were selling items at unrealistically low prices. Due to the harmful impact that such an event would cause to the game economy, we are rolling back the entire state of the game to shortly before the problem began, that is, to 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time, 21:00 GMT. We estimate that the game will be accessible at approximately 8:30 p.m. PST tonight (04:30 GMT).

My first day off after four shifts in a row and I log on, then a few minutes later the Error 13 messages start spamming.

Ugh!

So I go do other things leaving GW at the log in screen to get all the pre-streamed crap for the preview and periodically check up on it. 381.2MB and climbing. Aww crap! I have a 1GB/month cap on my account that kicks in a bandwidth throttle to 64K speed once I hit the magic number. I usually spend several days at 64K towards the end of the month, but this time I'm wondering if my ISP is going to be sending emails.

Sooo... Warning to the 56Ker guildies: Dial up before you go to bed and leave that sucker running. From what I've seen so far you'll probably need to do that a couple of times and it's still going here.

How can you tell how much of the content you've downloaded so far?

If you stay at the log in screen there's a little number at the top right that keeps climbing.

The last one I saw was around 433MB before I went to go do something else and when I looked just now IT HAD FINALLY STOPPED! 8)

Either that or it's not doing anything.

Another way to see if there's much download activity to your system is get any number of little moniter programs available on the net. http://www.analogx.com has one called Net Stat Live with a number of little graphs you can sit there and watch as data comes scooting down the link.

Harmful impact = people other than farmers and runners being able to afford stuff.

This happened before when they first changed the economy over to the universal traders (aka cross-region) and apperently that didn't have any lasting harmful effect, so I can't help but wonder about this one. Also, what about people who did something other than shop at a vendor during this time (someone who was finally able to finish Titan Source, for example)?

A superior vigour and superior absorbtion are hardly necessities for PvE.

Same deal with fissure armour, more or less.
