(online) boardgaming?

sooooo Wrote:Yes, sorry I should have mentioned that. Though I don't think it should make any difference the order you accept the invitation?

The order you accept becomes the turn playing order (at least for St Pete, don't know about other games.) I'm just hoping it moves along a bit faster if we stay in something close to time zone order. I think it helps at least a little bit.

I'll take you up on Carcassone; I've heard of it frequently as one of the premier German eurogames and would definitely like to try it. 3 games at once sounds like enough for the moment.

I'm down for playing whatever, I might stink at the games until I learn the rules, but they seem fun to play so why not try them out. Put me down for whatever.

I'm up for The something as well lol

Ah hell, I'll bite too.

Haven't played any of these, so put me somewhere my noobishness makes least damage please wink lol

Nick on yucata is same as here and if it makes a difference I'm on the net in the mornings of London timezone.

Sorry for not joining St. Petersburg right away; I didn't see the invite as I don't log into Yucatan.de if I don't have a game running.

I'll gladly join Speicherstadt and Stone Age as well. Carcassonne and Thurn und Taxis I'll have to turn down for now, as I don't want to play too many games at the same time.

By the way, I just noticed it's not the original Carcassonne on Yucata.de, it's a spin-off called "Jäger und Sammler" (Hunters and Gatherers) which is a very similar game but not the same. In fact I think the original Carcassonne is better than Jäger und Sammler, but YMMV. I guess they weren't allowed to do a version of the real Carcassonne because there are several commercial versions already.

sooooo, how is Agricola? Is there a game that it can be compared to? It's on my wishlist for some time now because of some great reviews, but I haven't bought it yet as I already have too many games that I've never come around to actually play. My wife is not interested in board games. frown

I have a bookshelf full of board games and Agricola is easily the best one. Think of it as an evolved Puerto Rico in thirteen stages.
I have to run.

OK, updated game list. I've put Mist into Carcassonne and DavidCorperial into Stone Age. Let me know if you want to join any others. I started the speicherstadt, carcassonne and stone age.

The Speicherstadt: Me, T-Hawk, Kylearan, Amelia Started

Stone Age: Kylearan, me, DavidCorperial Started

Egizia: Amelia, me. Better game with 3 or 4.

Carcassonne: Amelia, me, T-Hawk, Mist Started

Thurn and Taxis: Amelia, me. Can start.

There is a place to play Agricola actually, but we have to play it in one sitting. I'll edit this post with the site when i come back later.

Edit: And yeah it's pretty much one of the best games.

Ok, I'm finished with reading the rules of Stone Age, browsed a bit about it at BGG and can see its beauty. But I already know that I need to play it at least a second time as I won't have any clue what I'm doing the first time!
