Mysticism in, switched to God King, and I should have a settler done EoT35 (it's t27). Downside is that I don't have much commerce, but I'll fix that up with an elder council once the settler is done and crafting finishes.
Course, now I need to think of a good spot to place my second city.

Refering back to this image:
Right now I'm leaning towards B. Can work the rice, has several hills along with plenty of flatland for farms, ton of rivers, what not to like?
It's also where our cap would be if we'd settled in place, so it must be a good spot.

A lot of overlap with the capital. If you move B one tile west you'll keep all the advantages and replace river cows ( which you don't need, plenty of production there anyhow ) with hill pigs. And there'll be much less overlap.

Probably with that is that we give up the rice. The 2 AH resources don't really count as food since it'll likely be a while before I get AH. The only other source of food is Agrarianism farms which I'll probably be relying on anyway since there's so little food around.
Hmmmm, maybe I just convinced myself?

Here's a problem with 1W. If we go with that, then we can only work one improved tile until we get Mining (or a culture pop). At least B has 2.
Hmmm, that actually isn't really convincing. Maybe we need to slip Mining somewhere in the short term tech path? Since we're getting Crafting it won't be a huge diversion.

Okay, if you don't like 1W that much :neenernee here's a completely different tack :
Settle a city to grab the reagents you have to the east. You *want* to move closer to the Bones and Ridiculous Tree.

Got my 2nd event:
And it's a good one.
OK, so option 1 makes nothing happen, option 2 gives me a great engineer for 75 gold and option 3 gives me a supplies for 50 gold (supplies can give a free building in one city).
I think option 2 is a no-brainer, I have enough gold to afford it and it'll quickly pay back it's cost via settling with 3 hammers & beakers per turn. Supplies aren't worth saving 25 gold compared to option 2. Time for an early Great Engineer.
After settling him, crafting gets done in 3 and the settler in 4.
Quick demogs peek:
GNP needs some work, but the winery and an elder council should fix that up in a few turns. Food and MFG are obviously great.
As for settling near the reagents:
Main problem is that we don't have nearly as much vision compared to our original spot. How about 1S of the reagents? That gets the reagents in the first ring, lots of farmable tiles and only 2 tiles of overlap with the capital.

1S looks nice and should grow to be useful pretty fast. I did not suggest a precise spot exactly because we lack the map info over there.
And congrats on the Great Engineer. Man, I wish I had some of your event luck

Myktorion has a 2nd city already, I guess that's due to expansive.
I should get mine on around t38.

Crafting in, winery should be up in a few turns.
Otherwise nothings happening, no barbs are appearing (good barbs, annoy everyone but me ).
Tech path is: Calendar -> Education -> CoL
Dunno if we want Mining in there somewhere, probably not.
Build in capital will likely be: Settler(1) -> Elder Council (hire scientist) -> warrior -> scout (pops nearby graveyard and then goes NE) -> worker -> 2-3 warriors -> settler
