I really think lynching Sandover at this point is a mistake, I think his appeals were more earnest, and he only outed himself after real pressure.

MJW on the other hand, panicked immediately. He's indicated he's played this game before via his Mafia terminology, I can't imagine someone with experience in the game would have behaved in this way unless he was a wolf trying to lure the real baner out. I don't want to lynch Sareln because he's most likely a villager, we just take a panic route out to buy more time.

Ask yourself this, fellow villagers: If MJW *is* the real baner, do you see him helping us at this point? If I'm wrong and he is, I still don't think it really hurts our chances to win.

I've said my peace on the subject, just felt like I needed to get it out there.

What a mess.

While trying to put off the decision is sort of understandable, I think delaying does not actually help the village since randomly lynching someone else is likely to mean a villager lost. And leaving the MJW vs Sandover issue open means we will be spending our time debating that, and not fresh suspects.

I said earlier (during my discussion with Sandover of why we should scry MJW) that Sandover and Lewwyn had become my top suspects. At that time neither had any votes, and I ended up voting for Lewwyn. I am now changing this to Sandover.

I just do not believe his claims to be the real Baner, particularly because he opposed scrying MJW. After claiming to be the real Baner, his explanation is that this is not necessary because he (Sandover) knows the truth, so it is not necessary for the Seer to "waste" the scry. But Sandover "knowing" something does not mean anyone else knows it, or can trust it if Sandover states it publicly. I just do not buy this part of his explanation.

There is a small chance Sandover really is the Baner. But I think it is very, very small. If I am wrong, I assume I will be lynched soon myself. But I think it is a risk worth taking.

I can tell you without lying that the baner pm posted by fire&ice isn't the same as the one I received, so I guess that makes me a fool and MJW the real baner...?

That's, not what I'm talking about though.

The role pms generally have a degree of flavour text, and are often identical. A strategy to clear oneself is to post a flavour word from the villager message. Other villagers will understand it and know you must be a villager to know that word. I tried it once in a circumspect and deniable way once honestly thinking it was fair game, and very nearly got (and probably deserved to get) mod-killed for it. I know better now.

Not enough time to make this long.

1) I don't trust Sandover yet... but his last post did more to vindicate him than anything prior. Not enough to clear him, but at least enough for me to take another look.

2) MJW has now reappeared, after being absent for some time (while safe). He has sewn immense amounts of chaos in the last few moments, and has bordered on cheating at this point, if I understand his posts correctly.

3) MJW's actions are far too foolish to be a Villager - gut instinct. Not enough facts to prove, but enough to make me VERY wary.

At this point, I'm inclined to believe Sandover's theory that MJW is a 'Wolf. I've had my eye on him for awhile now, waiting to see what he would do. He's done what I've expected - precisely what he's done up to this point: sow mass chaos and strife. For this reason, I say we get rid of him now, rather than risk this charade continuing any longer.

Good luck to you Sareln - I highly doubt that you're a 'Wolf. If you are, you did a ridiculously stupid move with virtually no hope of victory. If not, you took one for the Village - commendable.

Wow. I'm sorry, but that sounds very very dodgy to me.

EDIT: And it means the odds have shifted. Now I'm calling for either a fake baner or a wolf to be lynched. Either of those are acceptable results to me. The only way this isn't true is if Fire and Ice is lying to the village.
