The Earth Mother is really annoying. I guess it's good if you need poison immunity? And it gives you a free glyph. Or maybe you can earn a whole bunch of piety with the plant transformation, and then transfer that to another deity. But mainly it's just a waste.

I've beaten all the 1st tier classes but only two of the 2nd tier so far. The Monk and Rogue are giving me fits.

I've beaten all the first and second tier classes. The monk I found best to play with an Elf. Since it has no attack, I'd get a high max mana, and fireball down the boss. The healing spell was great for it though, since each cast gave around 80hp. The rogue on the other hand, has the biggest problem of really low health so I played it a dwarf. Anything else left me dead in a single hit against the end boss, and as a dwarf I had to wait until getting up to level 8 before swapping runes for health. That gave me just enough health to survive single hits from boss monsters.

Actually those are the exact same race choices I used when I beat them. I only have bloodmage and warlord left to beat on normal. I still have to try the challenges as well

Wow, the challenge dungeons are really tough to beat. I've gotten a few of them with classes specifically suited to the monster draw, but trying to do variant play (classes that are bad at each dungeon's setup) is nearly impossible. You need some real luck in finding useful glyphs, gods, and items in the stores. For example, in one game I was playing the Paladin class (25% physical resist) in Snake Pit and right at the start I was able to buy an item in a random store that gave me another 20% physical resist, up to 45% total. That made things enormously easier compared to a regular playthrough.

Really enjoying this game, almost to an unhealthy extent. The random factor makes each dungeon unique, and this game is damned hard in the challenge dungeons. I heartily approve. nod I'm probably going to throw up a game or two with commentary on my Youtube channel for fun.

I play a wizard on the snakepit with mystic anurm, bysceps and fireball all within 10 squares. I also found the bludtopwr glyp! Completely steamrolled the dungeon. Killed a lvl nine monster at lvl 4 or 5. Just used bysceps to power up piety and get the extra fire dmg, lower resists and I don't even have to use a potion.

After that transmuter class is interesting. Beat a normal dungeon with it.

Agreed Sulla, terribly fun game.

This was pretty tough... Monk relies on health regeneration and long drawn out battles to win, both of which are negated by poison (snakes) and death gaze (medusas). The key to this map was finding the poison gylph early on, and then abusing the hell out of it to kill medusas 3 and 4 levels higher than my character. If you can survive one round of combat, you can kill it with fireball + poison! (Fireball, attack, poison, go wander around to heal, then come back and do it again.) I also had Pactmaker present, which is why the monk above has 23 max mana. Pactmaker and Glowing Guardian (the one that heals you) are overwhelmingly the best in normal circumstances.

Beaten all the challenge dungeons at least once by now, although doing them with some of the classes looks nearly impossible. The game singles out Crypt + Assassin as one of the worst combos, and I see why: Assassin relies on poison to get kills, and everything in the Crypt is undead and immune to it! Going to have to think for some time about how to do that one....

Nice, you're blowing me out of the water in play time, lol.

Given that my internet was knocked out, i'm happily playing this as well. I beat all the challenges with Transmuter, that's hands down the strongest class i've seen so far. Of course, when it comes to real battles =)

This is really addictive, i didn't realize how long i would be spending on it.

You did it completely differently to me.
I just played an elf monk with fireball, followed by pummelling. It was easy.
I've actually beaten all the challenge dungeons with the monk now, apart from the factory, which has that irritating Golem standing in the way of my fireballs.

EDIT: Actually, that looks close to what I was doing, but less elfy. Don't know what I was thinking.

Gorgon by the way, is a ridiculously overpowered class against everything but undead. It can kill bosses from level 4(with a lot of chipping away and healing). It can't really do much to the crypt, but any other dungeon is easy.
