Hey guys, I'm new to this forum, but I've been a guest for about 4 months now, making diferent Diablo 2 variants. I've been playing for over a year and have made atleast 30 variants of different chars. This site is great cuz there are guides to so many variants that no one plays, but that are still good in the new 1.11 patch. Right now im making a ninja (necromancer version) on single player. His name is Heterometrus which is the scientific name for the asian forest scorpion. He's level 83 right now and I've only been playing him for 2 weeks (I play like a mad man). I also play battle.net on USeast, and I have 2 accomplished characters over lvl 80.
This forum is great and I hope to meet alot of you soon.

Welcome to the RB
My, that's quite a pace having played this many characters in a year. Slow down or you will go blind ;p
Btw, are most people here still playing on USWest?

KoP Yes, almost all of us left in D II are on US West.
Todestanz ("death's dance" auf Deutsch?), if you'd like to occasionally find RBer's on Realms, feel free to create a West account, if bnet is kind enough to you to allow that.
There aren't many of us about, Dr Disaster, Gris, Shishak, Shadow HM, Bam Bam sometimes, though not lately. We seem to have been playing quite a bit of HardCore lately. Zed-F and Hawkmoon are with us for a team, but they seem to mostly play Guild Wars these days.
Will we be seeing you, or would you prefer to stay on East?
Ladder or non Ladder?

Thank you KoP and Occhi (Can i call you by that?).
And yes, Todestanz does mean death's dance in dutch . But I myself am not dutch, I learned it from my friend.
I will try to make a character in USwest, most prefferably the same Necromancer-Ninja I made on single player since they're so fun. I'll probably be playing non-ladder hardcore, but if you guys are playing something else, I can change my mind. By the way, my account is *Semajnitsuj on USWest and East.

Oh I see, thanx Berrie. I had asked my friend (who knows atleast 7 different languages ) if he knew wat death's dance was in a different language. He didn't tell me what language it was though. But I assumed it was Dutch since that is his best language. >_< Sorry Occhi

Most if not all of our HC West are Ladder. The only advantage is more rune words are available. No real advantage to non ladder.
I suggest Ladder HC if you intend to make him HC.

Ok, I'll be sure to make a character on West Ladder. I think that instead of making a ninja I'll make a variation of a golem that i read about by Boogietron. It's called Marsimuht's Greater Golem. It sounds pretty amazing, being the barb that deals decent damage and can tank a ton of damage at once (my favorite type ). But I'm still open to suggestions as to what i should make (I like characters that require some strategy and can take down monsters at a fair pace). Maybe we could even level together sometime. My account for East and West is *Semajnitsuj.

For my money, the best Tank is made by a Barbarian with a Defiance Merc, using Maxed Shout, a point in Iron Skin (plusses from + skills), Maxed BO, Concentrate, and Beserk.
That Said, Battle Cry deserves some attention for both east of hitting by you and damage reduction, bosses, champs, and all considered.
Another way to peel the onion is to Max Taunt, Shout and Frenzy, add points to Berserk to taste. Taunt, with lots of + warcries + from items, can drive both monster AR and Damage to ridiculously low levels, with the disadvantage of being virtually ineffective versus bosses and champs. The bonus of using a lot of + warcries items is that Howl begins to work again, since your slvl + Clvl +1 to Mlvl comparison retiurns to your favor. Again, not so hot versus Champs and Bosses, but it allows you to clear out minions while killing mini bosses, etc.
Barb Tanks have some neat warcries at their disposal.

ok, thanks for the support Occhi. I couldn't decide which char to make so i picked out of a hat and guess what I got... To late! Berserker!
I'm thinking 20 berserk, 20 BO, 20 mace mastery and either 20 in shout or howl (I'm still disputing which one I should put into) and 1 points in pre-reqs and battle command. I'm going to use mauls (I know, "but shields are teh bettur!" j/k). As for shout and howl, I'm leaning more to the howl side because I find shout won't be as useful because I won't need the defence as much BUT on the other hand it can help the party/merc/summons. BUT what i've come up with is since I don't have block% (no shield) I will need better means of crowd control so howl could be the answer. Another thing would be to put 10-15 points in warcry but seeing as it's not a synergy AND it doesn't last long enough to be as useful as howl. one thing remains, the annoyance of having to catch up with the baddies after they're completely terrified of me and running away. nothing simpler than 1 point in leap attack.
I think I've got it all covered but if you notice something is missing please don't hesitate to approach me and tell me wat I'm missing (I don't bite).
