RBP4 [SPOILERS] - Shaka of Zulu (sunrise089, regoarrarr, and friends)

In other news we finally stumbled across plako. Having not seen an email address for him - I PM'd him the following

Quote:Hi Plako!

ut? 35/m/usa :-)

Anywho.... it seems that we finally have managed to meet, despite the best bumbling of my warrior that apparently mis-moved the turn before. We have met = 8 ) the scout this turn and officially made contact, 30 turns away in the jungle, when it appears that we are perhaps actually neighbors?

As you've probably figured out, this map appears to be some sort of ladder setup, with 5 civs on top and 5 civs on bottom, and it appears that you and us are at the same "latitude". I'm still not entirely sure if we're exactly on top of each other if there is some sort of offset but I'm sure we'll figure that out eventually.

So, enough with the pleasantries, the REAL question that everyone wants to know is ...

How are you ahead of us in post count!!?!?!?!?!? :-D

Okay, the for real for real question is what was going on with you and War(lordDr)riorKnight? We've heard bits and pieces and such but would love to know the real scoop. Or at least as much of the real scoop as you feel comfortable sharing. We never met WarlordDr so it's like they say - dead men can't tell no lies. :-)

Anyway, you can catch me online at this email address and sunrise at his handle at this same domain, and we're both in EDT (GMT -0500 I think). Hopefully we'll be able to catch up sometime tomorrow for a chat. As neighbors I hope we can start to work together early on.

Talk to you soon!

Though I just realized I lied about my age. Oops lol

Then I remembered I had his email address from PBEM8 so, in the spirit of his civ as the emoticons, I sent him this email

Wait you talked about your age in that missmass of questions, comments, and information. I guess I need better eyeglasses 8)

So here's an area that I recently was wondering about

[Image: civ4screenshot0079.jpg]

Our warrior Dave is 1NW of the "War 60" tile.

Originally I had thought that this fork led to plako on the left and WK on the right, but I now believe that to be false.

After talking a bit to WK, I think the fork to the east (near the copper) leads to both of their areas, and further south, there is ANOTHER fork that leads west to plako and east to WK (as well as apparently another land connection between their lands that was the source of their conflict).

So is this another "peak blocker" dead end? If so, then we need to get settled down here and maybe create our "border" a little further south.

Dave is going to go to the War 60 sign this turn to confirm if this is a dead end and then head NW.

First line - 35/m/USA. The joke is that plako's civ is the Emoticons, and his cities are named

* Noms
* Asl
* Tyvm
* Brb

in addition to whatever his capital is (my guess would be wtf).

Those are all internet slangs. ASL is short for age/sex/location which is a popular opening when chatting (I guess lol)

So I replied back with 35/m/usa. But then I remembered that I am not, in fact, 35.

Email from WK

Quote:Congrats on building the Great Lighthouse. I was wondering when someone would get that. I guess my only surprise is that none of the Industrious civs got it (there are 4 of them after all) but I'm sure your relieved that you managed to beat them all to it. Guess you won't be competing with me for last place anymore. smile

My scout can just see the outline of your borders, I presume that I just head around towards the east to meet SleepingMoogle?

Sorry if I wasn't clear with the description of the Eastern passage. Here's a (hopefully) better explanation:

The eastern fork leads to the NW area of a sub-continent. The only way off the sub-continent is slightly S of the fork leading SW, where you'll run into my borders (there is no other way off). I imagine the easiest way to contact plako is to follow the western fork around the body of water in the south so eventually you reach the other side of my borders, which is where plako lives.

WarriorKnight

Quote:Thanks - you are correct that with all those Ind civs out there the last few turns have been a bit nerve-wracking. When I saw luddite's 16 point score increase on CivStats a few turns ago I was really sad, till I realized it was the Oracle!

Thanks for the further explanation - I think that makes sense. Our warrior went to the west of that initial fork (where we met), so I'll let you know if we find anything (or anyone) over there - we did end up meeting plako just this past turn - 30 tiles from both of our actual lands :-)

Yes - Moogle has a warrior which I bet you'll run into before too much longer if you keep heading east around our borders.

Talk to you soon!

Though rereading his original post, it sounds like maybe the western fork (where Dave is that I posted about a few posts ago) leads to plako as well? We'll see!

Well you could wish me happy birthday, but it is not, in fact, my birthday (yet).

I don't want to know how you got your age mixed up then.
