[SPOILERS] Athlete and Lewwyn are SHAKA OF THE VIKINGS

Lewwyn Wrote:Actually, I just checked and Medic two doesn't heal faster, it simply extends the heal to adjacent tiles. And apparently if a unit has Medic 2 and doesn't have medic 1 it won't heal any units in the tile!

D'oh, you're right of course.

So does a medic 1 + a medic 2 on an adjacent tile give faster healing?

good question... i have to check.

I was thinking yes, because it says extra 10 right? But better to look it up. In that case tough I still wouldn't want to move a unit out of the city though just to heal up faster lol... though maybe that would be a good tactic actually. If it makes it heal faster and you can set the medic two in an unthreatened position... why not?

Is Mackoti looking that up then?

Here is all you've ever wanted to know about unit healing:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=157954

Medic II won't stack with Medic I. It just heals units that are adjacent to the unit 10% whereas Medic I heals units in the same tile 10%.

From that site:
Quote:No more than one Medic unit can operate on a unit eligible for healing each turn.

So yeah I guess that a medic 2 cannot attempt to heal a unit on an adjacent tile that has already been treated by a medic 1. Question answered.

Turn came in! I'm working on the screenies now, will be done in a bit.

So I opened up the turn and raced to see what TRD had done:

Haha! I mean I wasn't sure but I figured he would take the city back, but then to put your injured GG into the city as well? Lets see how that worked out for you bud:

Not so well. I lost one cat, the other withdrew which was nice. Then the full health berserker dies on an 82% battle, ugh. Well even with that loss of the only healthy unit in the stack, I manage to win the next two battles retake the city.

Lets take a look at the main field here:

Good stuff. He's moved the one crossbow from outside Sigyn to threaten Skadi. SO only one crossbow in range there, and my units are one more turn closer to health.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Skadi's defense. I moved two of the injured zerkers into Skadi so that I had 3 injured zerkers, then I moved my GG into the city. He had a 70% odd on the crossbow so I figured put him on a hill and he'll do even better. He should easily defend against teh Crossbow, the question is that extra HA in kindness and which of his units attack first. Will I lose my GG? Dunno. But I figured I'd risk it given what I knew at the time that only that crossbow could hit Skadi. I only found out about the HA after I ended my turn.

In Kindness he whipped a new HA, per Seven. We'll see if he keeps it there or moves it, and whether he whips the city again. I believe I will be able to take Kindness even if he keeps the HA there. The only scenario that screws me is if he retreats the Crossbow in the middle to Kindness and keeps the HA in the city. I don't think he is expecting the attack or he would have whipped a crossbow to defend Kindness not an HA.

I've started looking at my next moves as well. I need to get a road south of Sigyn so that I can rush out of the city south into TRDs land from there I can move to a hill next to Temperance and hit it. So best case scenario is a 3 turn attack. 1st into territory, 2nd move next to city, 3rd take it. I'm going to need some Cats and maybe trebuchets. Next unit builds will be that. Currently building some zerkers island side for the next galleon coming up from Seven. May take me a little bit to finish TRD off. We'll see.

I'm starting to get some war weariness, +2 unhappy in large cities. Hopefully I'll get the Silver and Ivory from Seven soon.

Techwise I went feudalism. Upped the tech rate and will get it in 4 turns running at a deficit of about 67 gold. I have enough to get it that fast but it will knock my gold down.

EDIT: Also forgot to mention keep an eye out for Seven's update. Things just got real.

Wow so somehow my thread got knocked all the way down to the second to last spot in PBEM6! Everyone started updating all of a sudden? Well let's see:

Ta da! Seven pulled off his initial invasion, though I heard he couldn't take the 4th city like he planned due to an unlucky roll. You can also see a couple new wonders went up, Ruff changed his name to Stanley, Seven gifted me a new Galleon (Chariot of Thorlol) and I took Kindness. Easy as pie. TRD actually moved the HA OUT of the city and moved the southern Crossbow onto an unroaded tile but we'll get to that in a second. The only thing left in Kindness was a Bowman. So I attacked with a zerker, took the city and moved my GG and cat into the city as well. Also in this picture you can see my tech rate, Feudalism in 3 turns (Just ended turn in the pic), and I'v risen to 3rd place in points. Good times all around. smile

Now lets take a look at how things stand:

I've practically shoved TRD off the map. The only units left are the Xbow, the HA which is over there behind the peak fro some reason, (to hide it?) and the Xbow that was south of Sigyn has moved off into the fog back towards Temperance.

The only place I feel a little uncomfortable is in the sea! I was unaware as I moved my galleon in range that those two west triremes would be next to the city. I knew about the two on the fish, and the 1 in the city (which I ate). Now the question is will he attempt to sink my galleon? My triremes needed one more move to cover the galleon. But basically he can sac his triremes to kill my galleon and I'll clean up whatever is left with my triremes. I'd really rather not lose the galleon though. My second galleon is bringing up two new zerkers and a new cat.

I'm thinking my next plan of attack may be a simple direct assault on Chastity I want to move 2 more cats into Sigyn and then make a move for Chastity. Also you may notice the blue circle workers, gonna build a road to make it easier to attack temperance out of Sigyn. In addition to this I'm going to have the new 2nd Galleon circle wide and come around at TRDs single city island.

Turn:

Let's start with the log:

Yikes, Nakors got a GA to tech up and build phracts with.

Sad, my Galleon died, at least he put up the good fight. Totally worth it to take the city like that.

Sucks, that this random event happens... AGAIN to me. I had this kill a forge in another city round here. I was going to have this city start producing units but it looks like I have to build the forge all over again!

Hah! TRD continues to amaze me. He places an Xbow and an HA within striking distance of my GGs with no other backup on the tiles. I'll show how this went down in a bit. Its pretty hilarious.

Also in this picture we can see my tech(actually 2 turns for feudalism) and TRD's tech (also 4 turns based on ended turn), but yeah, TRD is definately teching caravels in an attempt to keep me off his islands. I"m going to have to build a naval force it looks like. And tech optics myself in order to compete. Triremes won't cut it. TRD has 255 gold right now, I"m betting his deficit is around 70-80 gold? I need to slow his teching. I need to take another city.

Battlefield:

Okay so see where I've marked the dead xbow and the dead HA? I believe that TRD was attempting to be sneaky. The Xbow was actually out of my vision. It possibly could have hit Frigga next turn and killed my GG (who did not have archery promo at that time) and then the HA could have killed the wounded zerker and I would have only had a cat left. Its not a bad plan. Excapt that I can see the HA. Because I have spy vision on Charity I see the HA and want to kill it (and take the worker) so I send my GG in Frigga to kill it. I used goto command right? It says it will simply go south and hit the HA and allow me to retreat out of range of Xbows in chastity. Well, instead it circles the peak, kills the HA and runs out of moves. Also revealing that he Xbow was there. I think, whoops. So I check out my other GG, and yes he's fully healthy again. He's got about 75% odds which is better odds than the other GG is going to have if I don't kill this Xbow. Hit it, kill it and I move it onto the tile with the other GG. Why? Because NEITHER GG took damage in their fights!lol Those are some strong-ass GGs.

So now I have two healthy GGs in range of of Chastity and almost all the units in Sigyn are healthy. So I pull the cat from Frigga, and Move the units out of Sigyn and begin to march on Chastity. I've only got 2 cats between these armies, but my GGs have about 25% odds on the crossbows in the Chastity even without any bombarding or collateral. The question becomes what will TRD do? Will he attack the main stack across the river? Will he attack the stronger GG units? He has 4 crossbows that can reach the GGs, but if he tries to kill them he will definitely lose all the units he throws at them because A) the GGs can kill those Xbows 1 to 1, B) if he sens units to finish the job they'll be out of position when my main stack is outside Chastity. We shall see, in either case (attack out or turtle up) TRD is screwed. Thing is attacking out with the Xbows means they don't get their defensive bonuses. I'd be happy to have them attack out and make my city capture easier.

Also my new galleon has 2 zerkers and a cat on board. We'll see where he goes as I circle around TRD's islands. Optics will make hiding its approach a pain in the ass. Gotta stop him.
