Judging by all the antics before lunch, it looked like the time had come for the bard or the village idiot. Both disliked, both shunned. A frustrated village wanted an easy lynch to rebolster its sprits. However, as the day went on, another victim was brought forward: the tailor. He was obviously wolfish, why else would he be so calm in the storm sweeping this village. His behaviour and vote record were suspicious, and we didn't really like him anyways! No he protested, he was just unlucky with the voting, he was doing his best, like the rest of the village. If he was a wolf, why would he have acted the way he did? But the village could not be swayed, and at the end of the day, it was the tailor who was marched up to the gallows, all the while protesting his innocence. The mayor, who had trouble deciding whom to vote for this day, sternly warned Mr. Nice Guy that it was no use. The voting was finished, and the village must hang him.
With a final push, Mr. Nice Guy is in position, the noose dropped over his neck and the rope tightened. The mayor asks: "Any last words?" The victim responds: "You're wrong."

Mr. Nice Guy hangs silently, twisting slightly in the small breeze of the setting sun. The village looks on, but sees no change.
