SG4-Immortality Scares Me

I do really like Spiritual. It isn't the best trait, but it is my favorite trait to play.

So maybe we narrow the list to:

Mansa (Fin/Spi)
Izzy (Exp/Spi)
Hatty (Cre/Spi)

How about we roll a start for each & then decide?

Hatty would be very fun as it would give us war chariots and the option of using the obelisk. Isabella is slightly more bland.

I was planning for us to choose a civ specifically for each leader (unrestricted). Any suggestions on which civs to pair with each leader? We probably want a reasonably strong one just because of Immortal.

Sounds like a plan. I'll do it when I get home.

Question, do we just want the first start that pops up for each, or roll 2-3 until we get one that looks interesting/effective since we are swimming in deeper waters than usual? Of course, with my luck, it may not matter. The last time around I rolled a Vicky start with 2 corns, 2-3 gems, and iron (found it later when I played the save).

If we are using unrestricted we probably want:

Izzy of Inca (Exp Terraces)
Hatty of Arabia (Cre Madrassas?)
Mansa of England (Fin Stock Exchange & Redcoats are nice)

Unless we want to be more specific on the map and use something like Dutch for lots of water tiles.

Other thing I'd like to throw out there is Japan - simply as I like Samurai and Shale Plants could be helpful in later game. Ignore it but I like them atm.

Madrassas are pretty weak overall though right? Just give extra priest slots?

I guess China and Greece would also be a possibility for Hatty.

Unless we wanted to ignore synergy and just go with an old standard like India.

I think Mansa of England and Izzy of Inca sound good.

Sorry for not responding sooner; as you may have gathered, there is no way I can squeeze this in [even aside from my normally patchy schedule, my teeth have just gone to hell].
Looks like you have a willing player in TT anyway, though. smile
Played in: PBEM 4 [Formerly Jowy's Peter of Egypt] | PBEM 10 [Napoleon of the Dutch] | PBEM 11 [Shaka of France] | EitB XVI [Valledia of the Amurites] | PB7 [Darius of Rome] | Diplomacy 3 [Austria-Hungary] | PBEMm/o vs AutomatedTeller

No problem man. Just felt I owed you a spot if you wanted it for old time's sake.

TT, you're in.

This is probably the best bet, for an advantage.

They give more culture too -> +4 instead of +2. Since the culture will probably be doubled after some time, it is quite useful to keep your tiles against the massive deity (and immortal too) bonuses. But it is not a very good building, IMO.

The mayans are a good option (resourceless early UU is pretty handy against barbs - problem is you'll need hunting for it), the ottomans too. Egypt or Persia for early rushes are good too.
