heh, I forgot about them also because all my games lately have been with barbs turned off. The barbs are indeed a major pain on immortal. But, often you can build enough warriors to prevent them from spawning anywhere near you, especially on a coastal start like this. Having the mined marble might be good for that.

Immortal barbs came as a very nasty shock to me the first time I tried Immortal.

As Luddite said depending on your land you may be able to spawnbust with nice cheap warriors. If not you'll need one of copper/horses/archery early-ish.

OK, so in light of all that.

Worker-->Warrior swapping to WB-->Warrior--> Warrior-->Settler?

Ag-->Fishing-->BW

Corn-->Mine Marble-->Chop Settler?

I don't know exactly how the timing will line up, but that seems likely the path I will take tonight unless someone can find some major objection.

I am playing turns in between games of Crysis 2 multiplayer over the course of the night. Just wanted to say that on Turn 0, I popped a hut for:

I didn't even know this was possible. I thought T0 was map/gold only. Was this because he settled the city before popping the hut? I've never gotten a tech out of a hut on T0 ever... Unless I just have bad memory.
