Heh, well bolt lasers can work as PD... kinda... if you're desperate... wink
Better be either sitting still or running away from the missiles at top speed tho. And I'm pretty sure his beamers would tend to outperform them for PD purposes. Not to mention emitters. smile

I dare you to run a variant where the only weapons you can use are missiles and any of the lasers (point defense, lance, etc. . ., basicly anything that is a beam of light.)

Well I have never acualy played the game . . .

I just thought that would be kinda fun not challenging or anything just fun.

Anything can act as point defense. There's no feeling quite like shooting at plague missiles with AP drivers.

I just did that, as humans your ships turn as slow as mud with those beam sections so while your alpha strike should instantly blow something up, its hard for them to line up for shot #2.

Too many things sorta count for that. Only going missiles would actually be pretty fun. And no bio weapons for sieges. Gotta nuke planets to death. =]
