That looks pretty nifty. Thanks for putting in the effort to get it working Lewwyn! smile

Lewwyn Wrote:Once this is set up, everyone will email the same account (rbpbem18app@gmail.com or the pro version). The email account then forwards the email to the next player. It also notifies the tracker the turn has moved and uploads the save to the tracker. Anyone can see the tracker once its up and can download the save from there. When you go to the tracker it tells you who's turn it is, how long they have had the save and what year the game is on. It's quite nifty.

As an example here's the tracker for pbem 14:

That's pretty cool. So we only touch the download when it's our turn?

Also, is there a way to show the actual turn # instead of the date? I'm still mostly used to normal speed, and it maps differently.

I'm only waiting on dmoc.nakor for pro verification now as I just sent their email out.

Once the map is done I'll finish setting up the tracker php. I need the games file name in order to finish it off.

I'm also running the email forwarding order by what GE put down in terms of times for everyone's slot. That I hope is correct.

What is the eta on the map completion/game start? Not in a hurry just curious.

Thanks for your work, Lewwyn. I accepted it this morning.

Regarding the turn order ... no-one has shouted 'foul' or anything like that, so I guess my timings were spot on tongue

You'll get the save delivered straight to your email address, download button is only for cases when it gets stuck/delayed in transit

Unfortunately no. As far as I'm aware no-one managed ( or bothered to try ) to map BTS save file header, and there is no reliable way to get the turn number other that read the actual save file contents. Without known header layout reading the insides of save file is impossible.

You could of course manually write down and assign a year to each turn number, but that's a lot of effort for very little gain. If Lewwyn feels like it ( and has half a day to sink ) I can tell him how to do that.

Thanks. Different game types have different mechanics that drastically affect the gameplay. Nothing like being schooled by someone fastmoving to snatch up your empty capital in a simulateous turn MP game!

More questions, are our saves password protected then? Also, do the demonumbers in sequential turn PBEM games correspond to the current turn cycle, or to the previous turn cycle? After all, if it's for the current turn, wouldn't it be skewed by the completed builds of the person just before you? And if not, wouldn't it get skewed by your new tile assignments/improvements? I don't get it.

You can set a password in-game. Tracker has no separate authorisation mechanism.

Demographics are updated real-time, changing tile assignments instantly changes the numbers in demographics. Graphs are updated on start of new game turn ( as in before the first player in the turn order )

Save came down fine, but I get a "Load Failed" message and the game auto-quits out. Anyone seen that before/know a fix for it?

Sareln, it wouldn't happen to be as described here? http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=382240

If that is it, then probably either you need to figure out what you've changed, or the save needs to be recreated without Lock Modified Assets.

If it's something else, then I can't help.

Does the game have an admin password? If it does then it will cause problems for mac to window passes.
