With summer here I find that I'm not really reaching for the newest, flashiest game. What I want to play, for some reason, is classic Diablo.
I've been playing a little bit over the last few days, and have a baby warrior. He's doing fine (maybe even having too easy of a time) in the cats so far, although he did have to flee from Deathspit when he spawned one hallway from the stairs. He's in that cute awkward phase between small life pots and full ones.
I don't think I've played more than a handful of times since D2 came out, so I am very bad at the game. It took me 10 minutes to figure out how to hotkey spells, for example. I'm just hitting shrines randomly, because all I can remember is not to touch fasinating, ornate, and sacred ones.
Since I never was an ironman player, I don't expect to be taking on IM now. Heck, I haven't even started a variant! I didn't play any warriors, which is why I started the character that I did.
So, if you've been playing a lot of Diablo and want to go beyond, you're better off playing with others. But, if there are still people looking for a casual and fun MP game now and then, then maybe we could play together some time. I'm not promising stellar gameplay. But, hopefully we can have some fun.

I keep finding all the most fun cursed items. I found an axe of corruption tonight! When I played my BNM, I had to go farming to get my cursed item, and now they're just falling from the sky. I couldn't bring myself to throw it away. So, I took off my other items and went and killed the butcher with it.
No, it's not so hard when you're not a mage. But, the spirits of the dead are now avenged.

I still play regular Diablo from time to time. I can generally be found in the Diablo LE chatroom, and almost all my characters names begin with Stupor (in case the bot is there). Generally I am there on Mondays in the timeframe of 6pm ~ 9pm Eastern Daylight Time. I WILL be there on Tuesdays, but that is to participate in the IronMan tourney. But I can chat for a while at least before my team shows up.
I may not be there every Monday, but I will be more than happy to join you with any variant or non-variant you want to play. I believe I have registered AIM on this forum as well, so you can contact me that way (in case I am playing Diablo 2 on Mondays as I generally do not play on B.Net for D2).

Sooner or later, everyone comes back to Diablo.
I've got a couple of hectic weeks ahead of me with very little or no time for games but afterwards I should have some time to do something along those lines with you. Although, I'd prefer to rough it up a bit with dying and ressing involved rather than...

I am though, to be honest, kind of at a loss as to what to think of you; the Princess Leia like getup at the Lurker Lounge and whatever that thing is in your display here (FF9 maybe?) are certainly in stark contrast to one another. 
By the way Stupor - The bot that was holding Diablo LE open the last week or two was mine, as the two people who usually do it are absent for a bit. The buzzing from the computer is kinda screwing up my sleep though, which I actually kind of need for a few weeks, so I've taken it down. I'll try to put it up in the mornings (I live in an off-centre timezone) but no promises as I'm not a morning person and am unsure of how I even remember to put pants on before I walk out the door every day.

Usually I don't play characters that have an easy time. At the moment, I'm trying to remember how to play the game. That's my handicap. When I used to play D1, my favorite character was a Drow-Summoner. She was pretty gimpy, but lots of fun. I got really good at golem control.
The princess Leia thing at the Lounge is a painting I found that just happened to be titled "Griselda". So, I'm fond of it for that reason. Over here, it's Plush Elvis Cthulhu, from a picture I took myself from our Plush Cthulhu collection. Both are aspects of my personality, I suppose.
Now for the dumb question- what's the "Diablo LE" channel"? I've been going to "Diablo retail usa-variants", just to get out of the main channel. It would be nice to know the name of a channel where there are other people from time to time.

"Diablo LE" is the 'Legit' Diablo forum IIRC. I find it is pretty hit or miss as to whether or not people are there or not. The bot allows you to still find people that visited there. Often times one of the last few to visit is in a game somewhere and you can msg them to see if they are willing to join you. It is too bad I have so many projects going on right now or I could probably schedule a time to play, but as things stand now I can only play as time comes free (not often). Good luck at finding some Diablo buddies!

Guardian (+fireball to get you there and to make Guardian actually work)
Resurrection
Town Portal
Bone Spirit
What skills am I missing?

On USEast, "Diablo LE". On USWest, try "Diablo DSF-1". They aren't exactly brimming with activity, but a slight chance at a game is better than none. Unfortunately, if you do find folks in Diablo LE, there is about a 50% chance of them being idiots, but on the bright side they should still be legit.
