That one doesn't work unfortunately, because you'd just have people spamming the thread with "vote A, switch to B, switch back to A" before the deadline.

That can and will happen with other rules too wink. But I'm completly happy if Lady Luck decides who swings if a tie happens.

I've played Werewolf that a tied vote means no lynch happens. The townspeople are so busy arguing and deliberating and could never come to an agreement before nightfall. So trying to create a tie scenario is another strategic option for the werewolves.

Sounds like a very good solution to me. It gets my vote.

Edit: Not that it matters when we are under Uberfish's dictatorship :neenernee

How do we resolve ties when voting for a tie-breaking mechanism? tongue

I would like mayor or voting timing to brake ties. It is very non-standard for ties not to be tie-broken. I have to say I support rule 11. My only real suggestion is to make sure that the seer is not useless. I have already posted some ideas in the ww3 pre-game thread.

The seer just needs to somehow survive that first night, and then we'll see how useful/useless he is wink. I suspect seer is actually one of the strongest roles, but only if he stays alive long enough to talk.

(not a sign-up)

(not going to join another of these until I can actually pick out a wolf as a lurker)

Or if he leaves a trail that the villagers are able to decode after his death. Problem is, he cannot be too obvious about this, or the wolves will catch him.

An XCOM themed game where only a single person dies at a time? huh

The aliens should have some kind of option to wipe out entire groups of people at once, sort of a blaster bomb launcher effect. lol

i still think the whole mayor voting thing for breaking ties is a bad way of dealing with ties

it's much easier and makes more sense to just lynch the guy who first reached that amount of votes

adding a mayor role that is voted by the players is unnecessary and can cause balance issues, makes the game much more random. If you just clearly state that for example the first person to reach the number of votes that created the tie gets lynched, then everyone will know that and vote accordingly. Like a wolf will be hesitant to throw a vote on his team mate to seem unsuspicious since that vote could doom his fellow wolf to die in a tie break, etcetera.

No need to needlessly complicate everything with a superfluous mayor role.
