I tried a game of Saint Petersburg on BSW and found the interface to be atrociously ugly. It looks much better on Yucata. Power Grid also looks a bit clunky (I watched a game but haven't played it yet.) Stone Age on BSW is programmed beautifully though.
I'll take a shot at Puerto Rico or San Juan, don't know anything about them but have heard good things. Dominion I've played a lot with a real set and got a bit tired of it, but could try it again. I think Power Grid is the consensus first pick to try for me and Kylearan, though I'd like more Stone Age too. I played a few public games of Stone Age, but the starvation strategy really kills the enjoyment. I have never seen that lose, and with a group of pubbie gamers you won't get a gentleman's agreement to not do that.
Should we try to schedule something ahead of time, or just see whenever several of us might be on BSW together? I'm traveling this weekend until Tuesday night though. You guys (and Sunrise) can play without me this weekend if you like of course.

OK, so should we say that we'll try Power Grid on Wednesday night (euro time)?
For Power Grid, 4 (or 5) is considerably better than 3, so if sunrise089 or anyone else wants to join then that would be great. I'd advise reading the rules beforehand, but it's fairly straightforward. Each turn everyone can buy a power plant, then everyone can buy resources, then you expand your power network, then you spend resources to power cities and earn money. All of the behind-the-scenes fiddly bits of handling the power plant futures market is done for you.

Wednesday sounds good. I'll have a look at the rules for Power Grid by then.

I think we are talking to start somewhere around 19:00 or 20:00 GMT? Which would be 2 or 3 PM US time. I can do that; can you Amelia and/or sunrise? (Based on your observed times for playing PBEM4, I'm not sure you'd ever find common ground with the Euros except for weekends. )

Hmm... 3am to 4am... yeah i think that's all right (most probably). How long will a game take though, i would have to leave at 6.

That's OK by me. I'm at GMT+1 (british summer time), so that's 8-9pm for me. It will be 9-10pm for Kylearan.

Really, 3am to 4am is OK? Well, if you say so! I don't actually know how long it would take, but if there are no connection issues then I doubt it would take more than an hour. IRL a 4-player game would take 90-120 minutes, but much of that time is spent collecting paper money, sorting out the power plants etc. I'd imagine it would be considerably shorter, especially if everyone has read the rules beforehand.

Actually I think I meant 19:00 to 20:00 British summer time rather than GMT, if an hour earlier is better for you and Kylearan. I'm likely to be out to lunch but should be online by 2 pm US EDT / 6 pm GMT / 7 pm BST / 8 pm CEST and anytime after that for the day. Amelia, would be great for you to join us too, just no more lightning strikes please
Yeah, my experience is that BSW games play about 2x faster than over the table, with the computer doing all the bookkeeping.

Well given that this is a continuous game, the lightning storms around here can almost be predicted already, so if i'm not there at the appointed hour just start without me.
And i normally sleep around 9PM, and wake up around 6 to go to uni, so 2 hours earlier doesn't make a difference =)
