Turn 3 [turn 2 was boring]
Wasn't going to update until there was a lot of map to see, when Bronze Working & the Worker completed, or if something else interesting occurred .. speaking of the latter ...
Think it's time to consider expanding. Will ditch chopping/whipping a 2nd worker after the Warrior in favour of chopping/whipping a Settler now!

Turn 4
Dale's still hill-walking, decided to do an about-turn & head west for a bit [must have a certain single by the Pet Shop Boys, or the Village People original, on his iPod let's hope the track changes to a Julian Cope number very soon ]
Have queued the Settler for Rose Cottage.

Turn 5 [it's coming round at some weird times]
I'm guessing Dale heard something:
Well, maybe I could call it Ivory Tower instead. Now can you head back eastwards, Dale?
**I've no idea why Photobucket always puts random black dots when I add the arrow, can anyone suggest an editor that doesn't do this?**
In fact, I've just noticed pink dots on one screen-shot ... grrr

I'd be a dedicated lurker, I suppose. I'm from near Thanet, UK. I'm a novice at Civ, so don't expect a lot from me, but I can help.
Yay, Second Post!

I'm not sure how it works with cash rushing, I think with whipping you get 20 hammers per pop instead of 30, if you whip from scratch. (Normal speed). That translates to +50% cost. I could be mistaken and it could be +100% cost and 15 hammers per pop. All I know is you can single-whip a warrior from scratch.
I have to run.

Welcome aboard .. just hope the slow play of others won't make you lose interest
OK, Turn 6 [finally!]
not much to report ... demos look rough, but, thankfully, it's still early days
Dale did uncover another food resource for Ivory Cottage & is now heading across the hills towards Rose Cottage, so I've done a more detailed dot map:
well ... I added the BFG lines ...
Now, do I do Fishing next? Or do I gamble on Mysticism & start off on the race to The Oracle? i.e. either Meditation or Polytheism then Priesthood ... if I do, I'd probably tend towards Meditation, as Buddhism does tie in with the fiendish Chinese psyche. But there's also Animal Husbandry to consider ... and/or Wheel->Pottery ... and/or Hunting ... gah!!

I won't lose interest. I'm away from my civving computer for a while, so I can't play for a while . At least I have something to do now!

I would go Animal Husbandry -> Mysticism -> Meditation -> Priesthood.
IIRC, it should take ~28 turns, faster with more research.
When are you planning on your next city?
Note: I had to do this off the top of my head, so it might not be correct

OK, that sounds good [hopefully we can reveal nearby Horse] ... I'll follow that with Wheel -> Pottery -> Hunting -> Archery -> Masonry -> Monarchy while we built The Oracle in Craven Cottage to nab Metal Casting

When Bronze Working is in, the Worker finishes, then I have a Warrior queued, followed by an early Settler. The order of settlement is Rose Cottage [unless I spot anything more fitting to name it after, the Marble maybe?] the Ivory Cottage [although I'm leaning towards Ivory Tower instead]
Ooh ... the turn's got around again
