Malakai Wrote:Also did you know you can change what your building when a chop comes in and put the hammers on anything you want, that can be a really useful thing to use in games, so you can spend your turns on one thing and then your chops on something else.

That's wrong. I think it used to be true but now chops are just added to whatever is being built at the end of the turn, along with other production.

Rand_fan Wrote:Couldn't you try for a Civil Service Slingshot with the Great Prophet you get (eventually) from the Oracle? IIRC, if you don't research Masonry, you can bulb CS. It could be a good boost to your economy.

Also wrong (though back in vanilla it was true). Here is a current list of tech bulbing mechanics: http://www.civfanatics.com/civ4/strategy...e_tech.php

Turn 10

After seeing off the Panther, and taking Woodsman I, Dale sees another potential city site:

will de-fog more next turn.

In other news, completed Bronze Working, will slip in Fishing next so the tech path is:

Fishing -> Animal Husbandry -> Mysticism -> Meditation -> Priesthood ->Wheel -> Pottery -> Hunting -> Archery -> Masonry -> Monarchy

Worker [GeorgeMichael] will move to Farm the Wheat; when that completes, he moves 1SW to chop & I switch production to a 2nd Worker [JoeOShea]; when he completes, the City will finish off the Warrior [EltonJohn] and the two Workers will move to the Forest between the Wheat & Incense to chop into the queued Settler.

Turn 11

Fishing started, George moved to start farming the Wheat. Dale moved onto the Dye and that's a ridge of high-ground where I'm thinking of placing ... umm ... maybe that'll be Rose Cottage, because of the Dyes[!] Hmmm ... wonder where the Copper is hiding?

Dammit!! How long will it actually take George [thought I'd already renamed him duh] to build this frigging Farm ... 4 turns showing at start of turn, still 4 turns showing at the end of turn!! banghead Elton will complete before he's finished at this rate ... oh well!!

Turn 14

Firstly, well done Dale:

He's doing a fine job dealing with the local wildlife.

Fishing completed at EOT, so will set Animal Husbandry going next time.

Everything else completes in 2 turns .. the Farm on the Wheat, building EltonJohn, and Craven Cottage grows to size 2 [I tweaked the tile being worked last time, to increase crop to 5 and reduce hammers to 1] Will alter the build queue for after the Warrior [Elton] build as follows:

Worker [JoeOShea] -> Settler [for Dairy Cottage] -> Work Boat -> Barracks[?]

No need to switch to building Joe before Elton completes now, so George will move to chop into Joe, then both will chop into the Settler. By that time, Animal Husbandry will have completed, Joe can accompany the Settler to Dairy Cottage, so he can start work on Pasturing the Cows [George onto the Pigs], Dale should be in position to escort them from East of the Lake tile, if needed ... or I could send Elton, and queue up another Warrior [FreddieMercury], we'll see.

With workers, if you select them after you've pressed end turn, the game doesn't recognise that turn just finished as a turn spent completing a task.

eg. Road takes 2 turns. In your turn, the icon displays two turns to complete the road so you set him to roading and press end turn. If you now select the worker again, it will still display 2 more turns until the road completes even though it would finish next turn.

Hope that makes sense.

Turn 15

OK, miracles can happen ... George finally stopped scratching his arse, and got it into gear, to finish that Farm 1T ahead of schedule!! A quick re-shuffle in the micro and ....

Elton completed at EOT, have instructed George to move onto the Forest 1S of him so he can chop into JoeOShea. Also amended building queue as previously advised.
