A good map for a modern age duel should have access for both land and water combat, and yeah, strategic resources are important, especially Oil and Coal. I would recommend you ban all nukes. They are far too strong. I would also recommend you play one-city elimination, which is how later era duels are usually played in the MP community, but that may not be for you!

Thanks for the input - and yeah, ban nukes at least. Are there any other wonders or anything that are particularly unfair or imbalancing? Seems like banning Cristo Redento might not be so bad, but I could be wrong about that. I also wonder if we should or shouldn't ban corporations.

By the way, we'd prefer normal speed over quick, unless there's a big reason to play Quick instead.

You lose the game if you lose one city. It forces you to defend all your holdings and not place throwaway cities.

I'm not sure if we want to play One City Elimination or not. It makes sense in MP games online but since this is a PBEM... not sure. In our past games, we've both had cities razed, even when going on to win later!

What civs do you guys want to play? I can just place them right in game for you. I won't make it 1-city elim or anything.

I would recommend you ban: All Nukes, Cristo Redento, Space Elevator, and Corporations.

For civ - I'm pretty ambivalent so I'll let you pick something that you think would be interesting and worthwhile to play - just give us the same civ/leader.

I agree with that ban list.

Agreed. Only thing... Scooter has gone first in pretty much every Duel game we've done so I'm gonna call first in turn order on this one!
