Guild "Storage"

Since Anet is taking forever implementing a guild storage vault, I decided to take almost as long implementing my own version of this. wink

You folks haven't seen me around, that's because I'm trying to not spend obscene hours in online games like I inevitably tend to do when getting hooked on one. ( Accumulating 1,000 hours on GW in about 5 months isn't something I'm terribly proud of... ) I don't plan to be using this account much in the future either.

So I went and wiped my two advanced characters and sold off their customized gear, moved the remaining materials onto a new community mule. The nudist monk Foxbat Stargazer is still intact, though with a much cleaner inventory. (And a few stat/skills she "shouldn't" have so mind that when nudisting...) Any items short of her starter wand/tengu mask are up for grabs to trusted guildies. I'd like the account to serve as a viable community mule, so take whatever you can use, purge absolute crap if space is needed for better items. (Yes, please consider dumping half-decent gear here for a later guildy to discover, rather than vendoring it!)

One character slot is currently a PvP (with about 80-85% unlock) and there's an additional empty slot. These could be used to introduce newbs to GW, though extra storage mules might be more useful. I guess that should be default if no-one sees the other uses as terribly important. Of note is the account is prophecies-only (the prospect of coughing up another $50 seemed like a good excuse to get out tongue )

The login is realmsbeyond@gmail.com, the password is the OLD password us diablo vets used to use just before the current one (the more recent password is too short!), I guess a vet can change this if it is too confusing.

Hope this is of use to the guild warzers, it's been awesome gaming with such a friendly, well-spoken, and downright silly bunch of chaps. [Image: hammer.gif]You might convince me to still fill in for nudists whenever that starts back up, but hopefully you can recruit some fresh blood to replace me instead. I'll still be around these boards anyway for a good while. Peace! [Image: smoke.gif]

come back...you want to come back.

Well at least you're not crazy like me. 3 prophecies accounts. 1 linked with CE Factions, 1 linked with regular Factions...Talk about addicted. eek
If you believe everything you read, better not read.

You killed me a little when you say you killed off your online self a little.

Bah, Factions was over-rated anyway, you don't need it to keep having a good time. Pretty much the only PvE I've done in the past month or so has been either UW or Sorrow's Furnace (with a couple trips to The Deep, but nevermind that). Factions PvE is boring and pointless, there's no sense of actually accomplishing anything like there was in Porphecies. And you don't need Factions to be competative in PvP since a lot of the builds in use are still Prophecies based (boon prot, Evisc. axe user, dom mesmer, etc.).

I'm inclined to agree with the second part of that sentence. I found Prophecies to be more fulfilling in terms of it's overall content. Factions adds some useful ideas like the merchants in explorable areas (where Ranik is the only Prophesies example springing to mind), but I find that the early game, to ascension, to advanced game structure mis-matches that of Prophesies*. I've come to dislike the forced teaming side of Vizunah and Unwaking Waters. I feel that the time limit for mission bonuses is inferior to Prophesies' secondary objective structure and I have found that the faction versus faction content hasn't offered much for me either.

And don't get me started about the alliance system. rant

So yeah. Good times in Tyria have been easier to find than good times in Cantha. tongue

*I'm thinking of 1.5K armour. We can now play to Lion's Arch in Prophesies, side step to Kaineng and get fully equipped with end-game gear while we are adventuring in early teen levels.

Ok, I don't get that. The PvE, aside from changes to the missions, looks about the same as it always was to me. huh

Kinda true, although I can see each installment is going to add options that gives the multi-chapter people advantages over single-chapter owners. We'll have to wait and see though.

I was thinking about this the other day in relation to PvE rather than PvP and figured that in theory my existing characters should have been mixing in one or two Factions skills to their builds each for their usual defaults...
Ice Blade: No change.
Ragnar: Signet of Strength instead of Dolyak for much of Cantha, but otherwise he's mostly just his old self occasionally mixing in Drunken Blow.
Kronin: No change.
Somewhat Zen: Various new elites open some doors, but I haven't used any of the standard stuff to further tweak existing builds yet.
Priestess Bathory: The Blood Necro I started while waiting for my CE uses seven skills available in Tyria and the remaining slot is about a 50/50 Tyria/Cantha split.

End result: A less-than-anticipated adjustment on the skill sets of my usual builds. Some new albeit rarely-used options for some unusual setups and experiments.
Caveat: 20/20 wands/rods make certain characters more competitive by some absurdly small degree.
