SG4-Immortality Scares Me

Sure, it's still around, in the Capital, I guess.

Looks like we've got enough navy and fighters to start a war with Ragnar. I'll focus on getting more ground troops though.

I decided to just settle the scientist in the capital. The only thing he could bulb is fission, which we don't really need. And I didn't want to use 3 great people for a golden age.

Declared on Ragnar on the 1st turn. I figured he was really no threat at all, so I might as well start things immediately.

This random event was pretty annoying...

I was able to take a city on the 3rd turn, using this hilarious picture of an axemen doing an amphibious attack on a riflemen. I reinforced immediately with a machine gun and artillery, but the axe was the only thing available to finish off the wounded rifle. We got a gg, so I sent him to Pisang Abon (the heroic epic city).

On the 4th turn Ragnar really sent out a lot of ships. But we had no problem cleaning them up smile. Even our transports and carriers have no trouble killing his wooden ships.

Turn 5, continued devastating Ragnar's forces with air bombardment. It's nice fighting someone with no anti air at all. We just need more ground units so that we can actually kill stuff.

Turn 6. Caesar offered to trade military tradition for biology but I refused. I figured we wouldn't be building any cavalry in this game. Assembly line finished, so we started building infantry.

At this point I noticed that we were getting a large number of towns, so I shifted us into Universal Suffrage. We can also do some rush buying later, after we've got industrialism. I switched us into theocracy too, since pacifism was getting expensive and it's time for war. We're also starting to get some war weariness, so I'll need to do something about that.

Turn 7. Traded Caesar silver for dye. Managed to kill a rifle with an axe, without any damage at all! All thanks to boatloads of collateral damage from fighters and artillery. Continued massacring Ragnar's navy.

Turn 8. Took another city. Finally getting some more rifles up to the front line.

Turn 9. Continued the advance. We had enough fighters to immediately reduce all his defenders in Nicaea to half strength lol.[Image: Civ4ScreenShot0054.JPG]

Turn 10. Took Nicaea, and got another GG smile. Lost one rifle in the process, at 85% odds- our first loss duh.

Sorry, this is a really bare-bones write up. There's just not much going on except sinking Ragnar's hordes of wooden ships, and slowly building up our infantry forces.

T259: Moving troops and building infantry.

T260: Traded Education and GP for Military Tradition with KK. Captured Constantinople.

T261: Research turned back on. Cue up some happiness builds.

T262: Bombarding Thessalonica. Continue building infantry.

T263: Landed artillery the previous turn and just chew up Thessalonica. It will fall next soon. Capture Laodicea. Revolt to Free Speech which raises 30bpt and saves 50 gpt.

T264: Starting to bombard Adrianople.

T265: Sold marble to Caesar for 17gpt. I thought we had already done that. If he cancels this deal, make sure we renew it. Also traded wheat and sheep for pigs and spices with Charlemagne. That should help. Thessalonica taken.

T266: Going after Adrianople hard.

T267: Military Science in. Onto Fascism for Mount Rushmore and Police State. Adrianople falls.

T268: Antioch falls. Building a transport in Bacardi and moving our GG across our continent to get on a transport to Buffalo Trace to build a Military Academy. GMerchant can run trade mission in Kyoto on T270.

T269: Trade sheep for furs with KK. Awesome, as our happy was in rough shape. Trebizond falls. Dorylaeum falls. Two GGs waiting to be taken to Pisang Abong and Buffalo Trace. GSpy born in the capital. I would think we want to get any other GP and trigger a 3-person GAge because the GEngineer is mostly worthless too. Fascism due EOT.

Probably want to tech Radio and Refrigeration next.

Looks like great fun! Do we keep all Ragnar's cities?

I'll probably play tomorrow.

I think we keep all the ones you can see on that map. There is one other crappy tundra city, but we might keep just to help with the Dom limit. What say you Luddite?

Also, do we take those barb cities while we are in the area?

Don't forget to use the transport I am building due in 2 turns to build MILITARY ACADEMIES in Buffalo Trace and Pisang Abong.

After the bank finishes in Wild Turkey, I think we should build Wall Street there.

Mount Rushmore should go up ASAP somewhere.

I cued a few Battleships just because I could.

We can also build tanks, so we should get some of those too.

Pretty much, I would take the carrier fleet over to a city, bombard it with destroyers, then wreck the troops down with 50% health with airstrikes. Then I would land our 6-10 artillery next to the city covered by infantry. The AI wouldn't attack out because they were at half health, so I would use the artillery which would collateral all their troops down to 15% health, and then mop up was all 99% or better usually.

You should be able to finish Ragnar, and maybe even get in place to start on KK. After KK, the question is, do we try to go at Caesar, or do we loop around and beat on Charlie and Ramesses?

Thanks! Probably will have time enough to play tomorrow.

Okay, time to bite the bullet!

Hit enter to start T270.
2100 gc from the GM in Kyoto.
Just bomb and attack

T271: Facism done, start us on Radio to get bombers. Agora falls, we really need more ground troops and we need more infra! Don't see any Factory etc... But let's get Ragnar killed first. Hapiness is really an issue as well.

T272: Iconium falls, rush Mount Rushmore in Bacardi with the gold from the GM. Could have used the GE as well, but I think rushing is cheaper.

T273: First barb city falls.

T274: more building and bombing. We need more transports and land units and everything...

T275: First Tank build! Hittite and Nicomedia fall and I'm out of time. These turns take damn long to play!

In the next five turns Ragnar will be gone. We might want to consider a few turns of building more infra before going after Kublai.
