City count:

Darrell: 13
Kyan: 12
Us: 10 (2 settlers in production)
Rego: 9
Shoot: 8

There's also some gpt information this turn:

Darrell: 57 gpt
Kyan: 45 gpt
Rego: 0 gpt
Shoot: 78 gpt

Shoot's lower level of expenses presumably helping there.

We're outnumbered on all fronts.

That's three galleys on the fish south of our trireme. Ankara's and Thailand's garrisons are highlighted. I retreated northwest with the trireme to try to draw the galleys that way. If they hang around at their current location they can daisy-chain reinforce Thailand when we land our forces there.

Our Thailand invasion is pretty much doomed to fail but I kept moving units in place anyway. The highlighted Galleys are inside Flooded Market. The signs also indicate my plan to settle the corn island west of Tipping Point.

Investment is also finishing a settler, it will head towards Flooded Market to be shipped to the iron/gems site. Our Trireme near StM spotted no settlers nor roads headed towards the jungle.

My plan is to grow Capital to its happy cap (size 11), then switch from the corn and rice to mines and build a forge or settlers/workers, while Investment starts growing instead. We want Investment at least at size 9 when we initiate our golden age, to work fish+corn+rice and six scientists. Great scientist due in 9 turns from Gold Rush (so don't whip the forge there), which should coincide roughly with our ETA on Civil Service.

Nice report. I think we should keep our heads down now anyway. Revenge will not be ours in this tech era. Better to reinforce our cities (particularly the one grabbing the iron) and control the seas to keep our cities safe. We'll have longbows soon which will make our cities unassailable for a while.

If we mind our own business, we stand less chance of being attacked by others and they may decide that we're not worth the bother.

Maybe we should offer straight peace now instead of waiting until a failed Thailand invasion. A peace offer might be seen like we've played all our cards and are desperate for peace. Better that they think so now, when it's not true, than later, when it is true. smile

Exactly. Each turn, just fire out peace requests to everyone. If someone bites then maybe they all will... :-)

Although you wanted to sign peace to cover the Golden Age, didn't you.

Yes, ideally. But if we stay at war our rivals will build up their military and become more and more disinclined to sign peace, I would think.

Lurkers, how long is the forced part of a peace treaty on quick speed? Is it still 10 turns?

EDIT: I checked - it is 10 turns also on quick speed.
