WereWolf 6 Sign-up Thread

Seeing as there was some interest in Lewwyn's thread I've decided to make a proper sign-up thread for this. I'm sticking with my original idea, hopefully it'll be fun to play & fun to lurk smile

The plan is to have no special roles, only villagers and wolves. Number of wolves will be known by all at the start of the game.

The light role play element will be kept, so pick a character if you'd like or I/Mardoc will assign you one.

We haven't yet decided how many wolves there'll be - please discuss this as well as sign-up! smile It would be nice to have 15-20 players. From a brief discussion with Mardoc, our suggestion is 3 wolves at the lower end of that player range and up to 5 if we were lucky enough to get 20 or a few more players. Thoughts please? If you don't want to play, but have input on balance, please do join in the discussion but help me out by making it clear it's not a sign-up in at least one post smile

Proposed rules (yanked from WW5, edited slightly to remove reference to special roles):

Quote:1. 48 hour days / 24 hour nights. Phase ends at 1900 GMT even if the moderators aren't online.
2. Roles will be randomly assigned. Players will be either human or wolf. Quoting PMs from the moderators is forbidden, you may paraphrase in your own words. The Vanilla Villager PM will be published openly.
3. Humans win if all wolves are eliminated from the game.
4. Wolves win if they make up 50% or more of the remaining voting power at the end of a phase.
5. Wolves may communicate out of thread, humans may not.
6. During the day each player may cast one vote for someone to be lynched.
7. Lynch votes must be posted in red or they will not count.
8. The player with most lynch votes at the end of the day is killed. In the event that two or more players are tied for the most votes, the mayor's vote counts for 1.1 votes. In the event the mayor wasn't voting for one of the tied players, he should as soon as possible, but at maximum 6 hours from day end choose one to die. If he does not, we will select one of the tied players randomly.
9. Mayor is determined by a vote on any day the office is vacant. In the event of a tie, the mayor will be chosen randomly from those tied. Mayor votes must be posted in lime green, or they will not count.
10. Wolves may pick one of their number to carry out a kill at night. Wolves may submit a kill order on behalf of their teammates, but in case wolves submit conflicting orders as to the kill details, the last received order has precedence.
11. Dead players may make one posthumous post that doesn't contribute to discussion.
12. Anyone failing to vote for 2 consecutive game days will be declared MIA and removed from the game.
13. To prevent confusion that may arise in the case of cross posting, posts may not be edited.
14. Breaking the rules will result in penalties ranging from warnings to being mod killed depending on the severity of the infraction.

To avoid profile-camping wolves will be encouraged to use off-forum methods of communication and all participants will be encouraged to use invisible mode.

Current sign-ups:

So in order for you not to be mod-killed Day 2 must end 28th June at the earliest, so game would start 23rd June at the earliest. I'll keep that in mind, and we'll see how briskly sign-ups run smile

I do have small window of internet access, so I can vote. But probably not time for any detailed reading / arguing.

Appreciated, I don't want to stress anything during my vacation smile

I'm in too, although the setup sounds a bit - how shall I put this tactfully - booooring. Say what you will, but the game just won't be the same without a lying seer, a seeing liar, a cross-dressing, self-doubting vigilante and a stack of elephants.

I guess we can spice it up with some role-play though. smile

Unfortunately, real life issues will compel me to be a lot more wolfish this time around...
If you know what I mean.

A lot of that did come from the people involved & the roleplay before?

I guess all I can say is if too many people think it's boring & not worth trying out then there won't be enough sign-ups to run it & then we float another idea? smile
