Played one more turn and just now realised that Nicolae could try another "desperation clean-up attack" against my W2 Axeman - as long as he promoted both his defenders to Shock.

On the other side of the world ... GingerEagle scouting-warrior was killed by one of my Jags ...

Later Edit - As a personal opinion : this map is/will be a strategical nightmare ... and more likely aggresive scouting & mobility will be the key.

As a short update : maybe I made a huge mistake but ( finally ) accepted the peace-offer from Nicolae.

Founded two cities in the last two turns ... not so bad - even position of one of it is veeery close to Nicolae's fourth city and there will be a clear "conflict-area".

Also managed to kill one of GingerEagle's chariot and capture one of his workers.

Well ... it became clear that this map is one with barbarians : I saw in the last two turns around 5 or 6 barb-warriors emerging from different locations. My Jags killed some - good for experience for sure.

And - a bad news - I spotted a barbarian city ... very close to Nicolae's border.

I'm a little bit under "beer-influence" but I managed to play my turn today ...

Not too much to report - except that Nicolae roaded almost every jungle/forest tile near our borders ... which is not a good news at all.

Ok - first rule of an aggresive opening : never accept a peace-deal without a clear advantage.

Unfortunately ... I didn't follow it in my "semi-war" against Nicolae and he has the upper hand now in troop-placement. Also I realised that he has the advantage to move first/can break first the Peace Treaty at the end of the 10-turns ...

Not a desperate situation ... but still bad ... especially considering that he built another city close to my borders ... which block the city which I just planned to build with my settler !

Interesting - despite the fact that he could advance towards my cities Nicolae accepted my peace proposal.

Hmmm ... let's summarize the effect of this ( stupidly-waged ) war against Nicolae :

Loses

Me - 1 Jaguar, 1 ( promoted ) Axeman, 1 Chariot, 1 Spearman.
He - 2 Warriors, 2 Chariots, 3 Axemans.

Not so bad - but I'll say this is somehow indecisive.

Expansion

I managed to settle 3 cities + capital = 4 cities with 1 more settler heading towards a seafood + iron resource spot.
He settled already 5 cities + capital = 6 cities.
Even if I suspect sort of sub-optimal placement for at least one of them ( and the last one is more a "strategical semi-blocker" city he has the clear advantage here.
This is actualy the effect of my stupid peace-acceptance in the wrong moment ( my biggest mistake so far ) - when he probably had already 2 settlers produced.

Technologies

No clear ideea which is the status here - but I'm also in disadvantage here as long as he founded a religion ... and I invested nothing in the "spiritual-path" yet.

Not too much to report for this turn - except that my "forest war-dance" with GingerEagle continued ... I hope that I clearly broke his farmer-gambit ...
