Non-ironman classic Diablo?

Something took out the power grid and the cable in one shot. Not sure what it was (auto accident knocks down a telephone pole, tree fell on a line, something in that vicinity). Power came back on a moment later as the grid was automatically rerouted, but... the cable was out for four hours.

My apologies. So much for "we can discuss it tonight" in regard to plans for next week, eh?

The alarming thing is that my battery backup actually failed to respond in time and my computer went down with the power. That didn't affect my ability to continue, but THIS battery backup is in hot water with me right now. What if I had been doing something (er... "more") important at that moment?!? :mad:


So uh... What happened after I got yoked out of there?

We decided to press on. Cautiously at first- clearing up to Laz's room on 15 but trying to save Laz for last in case you returned.

By the time Laz was dead, we figured that we might as well press on. We managed to clear around all the rooms before pulling switches this time, but we didn't manage to get through it without stirring up trouble.

I grabbed the Mindcry, and let's just say I had to charge it THREE TIMES on 16. It was lots of fun to play the mage for my own rogue, but of course we woke everybody up. Somehow our remaining War didn't abandon us despite our best attempts to annoy and/or kill him, and in the end Diablo did fall.

Sulla bought me a mana shield book (maybe this is what woke up my latent mage-envy?), and the next monster we killed dropped one. So I have some more wolf jewelry available if you're interested.

I'm really having a good time playing Diablo, and would like to continue if others are interested. It may be that we need to settle for shorter sessions, doing two levels the first time we enter a new area, and four the next time when we can go faster. That would allow us to start later but not end significantly later.

I might not know until Thursday what the wireless situation is, as we will be changing locations on our trip that day. I'll check in when I can.

And the ironic moment of the night. I had enough cash to buy a Mana Shield book for Gris at a cool 16k, and literally one of the first five monsters on level 15 drops the same thing. You can't make this stuff up.

As far as our time situation goes, I soon stop having to get up at 8am for summer work, and don't actually have to teach any fall classes until 11 on Fridays. That should mean I'll be ok to start and finish at a later time than we've been doing. Hopefully that will resolve the situation.

Once we reach that point, what should be the new schedule? Gris said she can't start until 10PM Eastern, so 10 until... what? 1? 2? Something in between?

Hi guys! I got in fairly late today. There's a bit of a wireless connection here, but it's spotty. I don't know that it will be consistent enough for gaming this week or next.

Did you end up playing? I have my character here with me, so I could level enough to keep up if you want. Just let me know.

We played through one run to 16. It was fun. IIRC, nobody hit the floor. We each picked up at least one new piece of gear.

I think we'll just wait for you to get back, though, and skip next week. We can wait one week.

I would also be fine with us skipping a week and picking up in Nightmare after that. I will be back on my fall schedule in two weeks, so if we want to start at 10pm EST, that shouldn't be a problem.
