Yes, I realise that now, I think event hen I knew in my gut it wasnt the best choice, but i was sooo booorrrreeeed!
To be honest I thought to settle it, but only when it was created did I realise it didnt actually give me any of the benefits I wanted settled

The warrior was not eaten start of turn. I have no idea if these means the mistform got bored and wandered off since I was not feeding it, or if its just playing with me, but fingers crossed!

Have you weighed up the benefit of settling him instead?

To be honest.. no.
Will do the maths once the turn comes around and I can see what I can do with him. The plan was full speed to AV to break the choke, but if its broken itself I may need to re-evaluate.
I also need to wrk out what I can do in this game.
I have effectively no diplomatic contact with anybody right now that amounts to anything, and am unlikely to be able to grow to catch up enough to take anybody on head to head.
Plus the map is crazily empty so with the lack of mana sources I am going to struggle to leverage most of the amurite advantages, so what can i do?
Well I need to check ingame, but lets assume I land AV and get a few cities up, that gives me 2 exit strategies I can see working
1. Make use of philosophical and start pumping out GPs for a altar victory. If people don't pay too much attention I may be able to get away with it.
2. Give up on the Amurites completely and embrace the horned one. This has the advantage that the sad state of my empire will be rendered irrelevant

Ahhh.
AV = Evil
Altar Victory = Not Evil
Looks like I will be growing horns

Settled the GS, the choice was between 7 beakers, or 6 beakers and a hammer, decided the hammer was of more use right now.
City is now sitting there on 2 warriors, with just the 1 farm pillaged (and I have far more than I need) and no barbs in sight, shame its not about 30 turns ago in this position.
Will finish building carnival, then mage guild, then a few adepts, main focus still full steam to Hybie

Well chatting away to Mardoc, and it seems my mistform did get bored and wander off, and promptly munched on his 2nd city which he then lost to a goblin!
With the map so barren and deserted it seems I may not be as doomed as i feared... that said terrain being so poor I still think Hybie is the right play, then I take terrain out of the equation
