I see a CE and something called a Starter Kit as well.

I could care less about the trial keys. I was just wondering if the CE comes with the weapons, if anyone knows.

I strongly suspect that we can just look to Factions for our example...

Preorder Key = Insightful Spiritbinder and the Poisonous Dragon Fangs of Dagger Mastery

Factions CE = Ritualist and Assassin exclusive dance routines and a mini-Kuunavang (Kuun added later IIRC)

In other words, not likely.

Hold on a sec... that's worded a bit... odd. Does this mean we won't get both weapons for pre-ordering (similar to how it went with the Prophecies preorder)?

Something that's confusing me as well is that (on Gamestop anyway) there are 2 preorder options for the standard edition. One comes with the starter kit and costs $55, the other doesn't and costs $50.

At the same time, if the henches are really going to be fully customizable (armor, weapons, skills) that alone would be worth picking the game up for.

There's a new article on a German site about Nightfall, some of the highlights (translated into English) that I got off Guru are:

* Customizable henchies
* Certain elites that transform the player into a five gods avatar with special skills (for a certain time)
* Party formation across districts
* Skill templates that can be saved and recalled in towns

The customizable henches and avatar elites aren't anything new, but the party formation thing looks like it has potential and the templates look to be a big one in the yay column.

Guru also has links to new shots of Nightfall on various sites, some of which are worth checking out (new login screen, partial overhead map of Elona, shot of a Nightfall female ele -- just when you thought they couldn't get any more exposed).

These are the stats on the new weapons:

Fiery Sunspear of Shelter
* Fire Damage: 14–27 (requires 9 Spear Mastery)
* +5 Energy
* +7 Armor vs. Physical Damage

Icy Soulbreaker of Enchanting
* Cold Damage: 9–41 (requires 9 Scythe Mastery)
* +15% damage while enchanted
* Enchantments last 20% longer

Something that I'm glad to see is that both items are unlocked with the pre-release key, something EB/Gamestop had been hinting against. The additional character slot is still vague. My best guess is that it will give you 1 extra slot with a Nightfall release key (making me thing we get 3 slots with Nightfall instead of the normal 2) but that's it; i.e. you can't put in multiple Nightfall pre-release keys (something I'm not sure we'll be able to do anyway) and keep getting endless slots.

Also, it looks as though Amazon is going to offer the pre-release package seperate from the regular purchase, just as it did with Factions.

Also, if you're going for the survivor title, this weekend is a good time for a push since experience scrolls are going to last twice as long this weekend. Stock up on those Berserker scrolls now.

Edit: Rather than add another post, I'm just going to edit in this link, which details a lot more about Elona as well as the contents of both the standard and CE. One thing to note is that the in-game CE additions will be similar to the Factions ones: signature dances and an in-game mini-pet.
