Klackon Game Report - Yrral the Verdant

[INDENT][/INDENT]Welcome to my first attempt at a Game report! Hopefully, you’ll enjoy my playthrough and laugh a little as well.

Disclaimer: I am nowhere near an amazing player at MoM, so the opponents are on Normal tongue There may be some RP as well.

[SIZE="2"]Abstract:[/SIZE]

[INDENT][/INDENT]I will be playing this game under what I find to be the best way to play Klackon. Which means I will be raising all non-Klack cities and trying to rapid expand. Since Klacks don’t really have a late game army to speak of (Stag Beetles ewwww) I will be relying on Summons, Heroes and Mercs. I hope to expound upon something that I tend to neglect most games, road systems. Since an ant’s natural building strategy is to have a massive of network of tunnels, I feel roads would at a bit more Ant flavor to the game.

By the end of the game have 1 million Klack-only Subjects

Good luck! Are you doing screenshots via the DOSBox command? They'll be smoother that way. I wouldn't dismiss stag beetles, while they're certainly not impressive they usually get the job done. They cost too much, but you won't have much else to use your ant workers for as you can't really build any infrastructure. Heroes are definitely worth focusing on, I've never had very good results with most summons. Sprites are actually pretty good, if you don't feel that killing one monster at a time and then timing out the battle is cheating, can take out many Nature nodes that way.

Are you using the latest version of Insecticide? If not, I recommend trying it out. I was planning on doing a report myself, possibly in video format. If you keep this up, I may just be motivated to get on with it smile

Catwalk-Usually I tend to run with Mostly heroes because those are the units I can min/max the best, so I want to try something a little different. Also this is just straight from Gog.com version of MoM, after looking at what the Insecticide patch does I will try to get that in the near future!



Chapter I

One of my favorite parts about green is Earthlore, I love revealing the map in nice even squares (I always find that Magic Spirits make weird pathfinding decisions when you try to make them go long distances). So I casted Earthlore as soon as I had the mana and this is what I found.......

An Intruder to the Klackon Homeland!

I soon gathered the extra spearmen in Chitik and summoned a pack of Wild Bears and was determined to rid the earth of the vile race!

Battle at Hannover!!

This marked the first major event in Klackon history......

[INDENT][/INDENT][SIZE="2"]Thirock[/SIZE] – Known later as Thirock the Great. He was given the right to lead one of the first two expeditions. He founded the mining capital of Thirock, which has continued to prosper today. Thirockian descendants have been used to claim and populate the Southwestern half of the continent.


[INDENT][/INDENT][SIZE="2"]Katax[/SIZE] - Was blinded during the Battle of Hannover, and became known in legend as Katax the Sage. He, like fellow survivor Thirock, was given right to lead the other of the first two expedition groups. He created the city of Katax(south of current-day Braxus) which after months of struggle was deserted. He then set out to find another plot of land to claim in the name of Yrral. This settlement of Katax was wiped out by fire denizens of the nearby chaos node. After these two failures of land choices he was then referred to as “Katax the Blind”. The modern-day Katax, is a testament to the perseverance of the Klackon people.

Habib is a relatively good throw-away hero, though I much rather Zaldron the sage, as he really covers the Klacks lack of Spell Research power.

My plans for the next chapter are fairly simple, wipe continent of all non-Klackon peoples (towns, lairs, nodes, etc). The next big decision that I see coming up is where should I expand and cleanse next? There's at least 2 folks across the ocean or I could instead try to claim land on Myrror? What do fellow members think?

Nice report so far, I love the editing. I'd go for filling up your continent in a hurry, making sure to keep enough cash on hand to recruit any suitable heroes that drop by. Try to get your fame up to 10 for significantly better chances, see if there are some easy battles.

Chapter 2:

During the 15 year great cleanse of the continent Yrral brought about a new divison of the army and posted propaganda amongst all Klackon settlements.

Yrral finally learned the deadly conjuration to summon a mighty basilisk and has used numerous ones to clear South Klackonixia nodes and lairs.

During the Klackon-cleaning of the country side I stumbled upon some new artifacts: +6 Bow and a +2 Def +3 Mov Shield.

Yrral, has no need to consult with inferior wizards!

On December of 1430 during the annual War Council, Yrral brought up the subject of expansion to her two trusted military commanders Habib and Zagros.

Yrral - "How do you suppose we further expand the Klackon Initiative?"

Habib - "I suggest that we go after the lizardmen who fly under the blue banner, the rest will fall in line after we chop off the head of the snake!"

Zagros - "Habib, sometimes your nobility and belief in our military might clouds your judgement. The greatest general is one who fights only once he has assured victory. I say we go after the weakest wizard in yellow. We will take this oppurtunity to set-up a stronghold on the new continent, and like Kudzu we shall slowly sap the remaining wizards on land and POWER!"

Yrral - "Habib, while I admire your distaste for the other wizards, I agree with Zagros's plan of attack. Since our forces greatly outnumber yellows We shall attack from both sides of the continent."

Habib- "Yes I understand Empress Yrrall. Kla da Vixal Klackonixa!"

Zagros -"Kla da Vixal Klackonxia!"

Yrral - "Tell all the soldiers that Operation Kudzu is now in effect. Kla da Vixal Klackonixia!"

Those rangers are a godsend, pathfinding is a huge advantage for your killer stack. Did you get access to Myrror, or was that tower a dead end? You don't need all those trade goods, make stag beetles elephant:
